Femtosecond posted:How do I interpret the results of this recent nice BE-1 auction ? https://auc.japancardirect.com/aj-5lQViUPIxtCGeBC.htm This is a 'USS' auction, specifically a Kyushu one. USS doesn't share sold prices so the only information you can glean from this is that it was sold and had to be over 198000¥ because that's what the auction started out as. It's very possible that the minimum bid amount was also the reserve and someone could have bought it for 200000¥, or it could be higher. No way to tell unfortunately. You can watch this one and get a sold price because it is a JU Saitama auction and thus will show a sold price. IF it sells. Last night I found out that the 83 Acty doesn't have any lights in the center stack, so no light up HVAC controls or the radio. Instead, it has these lights on the steering column pointed toward the center stack, acting as this dim little green flashlight in order for you to see what you are doing. p.s. You have to pay to do it but I guess it has a higher priority then automated so you could win for less.

Do you even own a car, why do you cruise the car forums? I can't tell if you're being serious or not but yes, I have a 92 chevy S10 and a 03 mazda protege5. And I also have a bicycle and ride it on public roads. We have both a legal and an ethical responsibility to share roads with all types of vehicles where they are permitted, and it has to be OK for people to drive (or ride) slower than the posted speed limit, irrespective of a driver's preference. Yes, some people behave dangerously on roads, and that dangerous behavior can include proceeding at very slow speeds as one (but not the only) component of bad behavior... like, weaving around on the road, failing to make use of available space on the shoulder, etc. is dangerous behavior by a bicyclist who is also going slowly and their slow going makes that behavior more dangerous. But just doing 30 in a 45 zone or whatever is actually fine and OK even if it's frustrating to people who want to go faster. It's not the same as someone doing sub-45 in a posted restricted access freeway. A 45mph road is already a "back road" and it's not fair or reasonable to demand that people getting around by scooter, or bicycle, or even a skateboard entirely avoid those roads too. If they're otherwise obeying the law and driving/riding safely, than yeah, you have no reason to be upset and definitely no cause to "run them off the road" (or just pass aggressively closely, honk, and otherwise be a big dick on the road). You match speeds a safe distance behind them and then pass when it is safe to do so. This is not a controversial or unusual position for me to take, either. It's literally the law of the land.

My opinion on maintaining the speed limit is more to do with safety, because where I live and drive around in urban sprawl FL, it's flat out dangerous to ride a scooter at 30 mph in a 45 zone because of all the other idiot drivers. It may be legal but it doesn't mean it's a smart thing to do, and even tho i was tempted to do it while I was riding a scooter I never did because no way I'm trusting everyone else to respectfully avoid me. Obviously this depends on your location, but around here it's just not a good idea.

Sold one of the trucks yesterday. $4800, as we were test driving i noticed it was losing water. Got it back looked underneath the leak was coming from under the timing cover. Long story short water pump began to fail leaking out of the weep hole. Ordered a new one it's a week out. SO DAM CLOSE to selling one with no repairs to it.

Got the Daihatsu torn down yesterday, here are some pics: What the Daihatsu would look like with an 8 inch lift. Look at all the cool stickers on the back. The offending water pump mount. Ordered a new one from Illinois , estimated week shipping time and its 130$ jesus dem prices. Also has anyone dealt with stop leak in a cooling system? Does it create a nasty white foam when circulated in the radiator? Flushed that thing like 8 times and it keeps creating the foam even with just straight water. edit: I don't think its a head gasket, as I have no vapor clouds that come out the exhaust, no coolant in oil or vice versa, and it was not overheating. Stop leak is horrible poo poo and you can never get it all out so don't waste your time trying. A couple of good flushes and that's about as good as it's gonna get.

So if I am not getting the brown milkshake in the cooling system/ oil pan, the foaming is likely just residual from the PO using what I believe to be stop leak. Not getting sweet exhaust or vapor cloud out of exhaust as well. Also pulled plugs the tips are light brown (which is usually an indicator of good burn right)

Not that long ago Daihatsu still had a single US employee named (I think) Robert. He could order anything for the G100 Charade/F310 Rocky/ S83 HiJets. I'm actually working with a small 4x4 shop in the UK for my Rugger since (as was mentioned earlier) they are known as Fourtraks there and are quite popular, looks like in the same way that Samurais are here. I'm going to replace all the leaf springs, absorbers and a lot of bushings and I just don't have many options for parts. I tried looking to see what I can use from the Rockys but outside of trim pieces and maybe front rotors, nothing. Going to be over 1k USD but considering the price I got the Rugger for that's ez pz. I did just order (from Japan) the wheel trim pieces that sit within the center of the wheels though. Can not in any circumstance find the missing 'Rugger DX' badge that belongs on the back. Can probably just cut some vinyl if I'm feeling real strongly about it.

Some pics of the Sambar purchase, I did pretty well on this one for the price. The bad shots: A dent up front, got a friend who does body work says he can come over and suction cup/hammer it out for a six pack. I can correct most of this, only spot is where it looks like it went down to metal (3 faint darker lines), might get a paint pen made and fill then correct and repeat if the pen is cheap. The front bumper cover and headlight surrounds need a plastidip (can do that for under 30$). Interior needs a good cleaning. Bed is in good shape. I think this one will sell well, its hard to find high quality 5 spds w/ diff lock. And i got a killer price so more profit for me. Anyone able to make replica stickers ( will pay) alot of the people looking absolutely love the ridiculous amount of stickers that are on these trucks.
