That would explain it, honestly. A poor or inexperienced vocal director can make mediocrity out of even the best VAs, and would explain the weirdly inconsistent scene quality.

I dunno. I think saying he's "poor" is kind of unfair. I mean, the level of exaggerated and "hotbloodedness" is something dubs of anime walk back from the Japanese version a lot of the time. I remember Kamina's actor in Gurren Lagann's dub talking about how the director wanted him more subdued back when they were doing that show.

Speaking of dubs, is there any chance of Appmon getting one anytime soon? I believe Fusion never got it's 3rd season over here (though it was subbed and put on Crunchyroll at least) and had kind of a weird release schedule and while Saban handled the dubbing for every incarnation except Tri it's possible they don't want the series anymore and/or lost the license by now.

Toei's USA twitter posted Appmon for their Halloween message, which is rather suspicious. It's getting one in France under the title "Digimon Appmon" and I think it already started. I dunno about Saban losing the license but they were showing Appmon at trade shows so they're clearly shopping around.

Yup, that was the point of the Reboot, even more than removing Meicoomon's virus.
