Regardless of whether you think he's funny or not I think it's pretty galling that you'd compare anyone to andy dick without having some serious dirt on their character.

Andy Dick was hilarious on Newsradio. He's a trash human being, though. Perhaps we should specify when we are comparing someone to Andy Dick the person as opposed to Andy Dick the sometimes-OK comedic actor. Jim Gaffigan does not deserve the former, as far as I know.

Oh that's fine. I still kinda have fun memories of his MTV show. It was dumber than gently caress but had a few bits of brilliance.

Yeah that’s exactly what I was trying to get at. Most places outside of Canada that have tried their hand at poutine just totally miss the point, almost like they’re trying to create something they’ve only heard of but never actually had for comparison. My local Price Chopper has been carrying white cheddar curds for a while so every now and again I just whip up a batch at home when I get a craving.

Jim Gaffigan is basically the white Gabriel Iglesias, in that they had one decent Comedy Central special, and then basically spent the rest of their careers doing the same joke over and over again. I don't really like Jim Gaffigan much these days, but he was arguably good before.

Dude brings his family on tour with him, and probably has them on the payroll as well. Doesn't seem too bad. His stupid loving whispering after a punchline is my biggest problem with him.

You don't think any of them will grow up and resent the man for it? Nevermind the showbiz culture that it opens them up to. It also seems pretty goddamn desperate. Nobody's going to boo a 9 year old. I maintain my opposition!

There's some hidden subtext in that Christmas card. Namely, Lisa is a bitch who writes lovely things about her kids.

I went to a Gaffigan show maybe 6-8 months after the debut of his big special with the Hot Pockets bit in it. People brought boxes of Hot Pockets with them and waved them in the air ecstatically when he did the jokes. Later on, he signed the boxes at the after-show meet and greet. I died that day. robotsinmyhead has a new favorite as of 16:57 on Dec 5, 2017 |

Olive! posted:You think they were married at birth? Pretending it’s real, Lisa probably worded it poorly and meant they are 41 years old, not at 41 years of marriage. Even if they married at 16, that would put the 3 year old being born when lisa was 54 years old which would be exceedingly unlikely based on how ovaries work. Unless she’s making GBS threads on an adopted kid, which I guess would be just as possible.
