"You see Billy, by this time a kid had thrown a chicken while an infertile couple looked at a store." is my favorite riff of the entire series. Just thought I would share that.

Edit: gently caress you, context ruining page snipe!

Yeah it's this:

Also the movie is a complete ripoff of a Stephen King story titled "The Monkey:"

There's a lot of snow in Avalanche, but other than that, it's not terribly Christmas-y.

Sure is a lot of Rock Hudson yelling at people into the phone, though.

I think Avalanche is easily one of the most uncomfortable films they've ever done. It's a real testament to the show that it manages to make it palatable.

You should feel ashamed.
The first host segment in The Touch of Satan is Christmas related as it's about wassail from the Christmas carol.

Carnival Magic is basically the moment in Cry Wilderness when Bigfoot first appears and tells the kid his dad is in trouble, but over and over again just to be sure that you're constantly baffled and unsure of what you're watching.

That's the one, although part of the appeal of the MST episode is how awful the print is. Now it no longer looks like a Zapruder film.

Yes. It even features bits of the movie not seen in the MST version.

So the riff about every shot looking like someone's last known photo suddenly loses its oomph.

The Rifftrax crew did a live show using the remastered version a couple years ago. It's on Prime Video: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01LXMVBYL/ref=tmm_aiv_title_1?ie=UTF8&qid=&sr=

For whatever it’s worth, that show didn’t actually use the restoration, because it wasn’t ready yet, but it was sourced from the same goon who did the restoration. The print RiffTrax used definitely looked better than what was on MST3K, but it’s still a noticeable step down from the completed restoration.

It’s still a terrible movie but now it’s kind of... watchable? When the camera is in focus and well lit, at least.

And I’ve grown to have a legit appreciation for the soundtrack. Probably the best part of the entire movie.

I don't know which of his characters were worse in terms of writing. Mitchell was a weird mix of lazy/sleazy cop and sort of effective detective. I found nothing redeemable in his Final Justice role, like there was nothing about his character that I could like or empathize with. Also that shirt. :newlol:
