As a starting point I'd suggest maybe the Nitro after Hogan was revealed as the third man, which would be July 8 in 1996. Plus over on Raw short of anything else you've got Bret Hart and Steve Austin clashing and the eventual lead-in to Bret Hart's heel turn and Canadian Hero gimmick in 1997. Edit: Incessant Excess' idea is a good one too, because you'll be able to see Nitro's astonishingly quick decline while Raw was somehow turning even poo poo into gold (and there was a lot of poo poo) and going to even greater heights. I'm not sure why it surprised me since their problems were such a long time ago, but it was a genuine pleasure to hear just how much Edge and Christian love the Woken Matt Hardy gimmick and hear them rave about how savvy Matt is.

It is so nice to see the Hardys doing okay, things were REALLY shaky for both of them for a while. I know Jeff's injury is serious, especially with the amount of mileage on his body but at least he's collecting a cheque int he meantime
