This could all be bullshit of course, so take it with a huge helping of sea salt.

Having spent an entire year screwing around with a badly broken Star Citizen 3.0 build, I have also heard that today�s announcement of the SQ42 schedule � which promises to be as accurate as all the Star Citizen ones before it � says that it is due out by holiday 2018. Which obviously means sometime in 2019 � if ever.

I am getting a few conflicting reports about what they are in fact going to show today in the live stream for SQ42. I am hearing that it�s either another game play trailer cinematic showing a basic combat mission (which hooks into the IGN teaser), or an interactive play through in an AI test map in which they talk and interact with other NPC units. The latter being The Morrow Tour 2017.

You think Chris Roberts is going to let you into one of his spaceships in Chapter loving One? You complete scrub. This is the most fidelitous game of all time!

Chapter 1 will be a complete retelling of the character's childhood with the player making key decisions at all of the important growth points. Stolen entirely from the opening scenes of Fallout 3. The story will branch completely from each of these, necessitating 16 wholly separate storylines starting from chapter 2.

Chapter 2 will, of course, be the player's college years. Stolen entirely from the opening scenes of System Shock 2. Each year, the player will choose a discipline to master, and then be treated to a one hour interactive movie detailing their journey. There will be 4 possible disciplines per year for each of the 16 story lines, leaving the character with 256(!) total hours of potentially watchable video.

Chapter 3 will detail the player's journey through JROTC, and Boot. Stolen entirely from Full Metal Jacket and also Starship Troopers. R Lee Ermey will play literally every character including the women. There will be so much shouting. There are no new branching paths because you don't get to make any choices in boot, and all of your character's past choices will be wiped away as the narrative converges back to a single path. Chapter 3 ends when Chris Roberts trips and his inflated head strikes the earth like a meteor, wiping out the protagonist's home town.
