I'm listening to Reinkaos for the first time right now and it sucks so hard lol. I never listened to it because Dissection were always pretty terrible and imagining Jon Nödtveidt going "finally my combination of lovely Göteborg death metal and entry-level black metal tropes is complete - time to kill myself" was funny enough. But it turns out it's actually more like extremely lovely melodeath crossed with idk, arena rock? It's even worse than I thought, and it's his big manifesto lol. This album keeps getting worse as I'm typing this post, jesus loving christ. I'm gonna end this post here before I say anything racist against Swedes, even though they would deserve it

It’s kind of weird to listen to Decapitated since all the raping. Plus their last three albums have been poo poo so I guess I’m done with them.

The likelihood of a conviction has nothing to do with setting bail amounts. It’s a measure of flight risk against the charges.

I liked Dissection the couple of times I listened to them, but then I found out that Jon comitted a (probably homophobic) murder, and also used to kill cats. I can seperate the artist and their work to an extent, but that's too much for me.

Is it really a big deal to murder the odd person or cat once in a while? maybe you should be more tolerant of other cultures and their beliefs

The cool thing about liking Dissection is that if you object to Jon Nödtveidt being a jerk you can always just listen to these superior albums instead:

Tobias Sidegard of Necrophobic was convicted on some pretty awful domestic violence charges, against his wife and daughter. The band kicked him out the day he was convicted.

Cardinal Sin are basically Nodtveidt-less Dissection.

Right, so Jari Mäenpää has now released Wintersun 2.0, a remixed version of the debut album. It now starts off with a floaty instrumental intro followed by Winter Madness, with Beyond the Dark Sun following that. Apparently it was originally meant to be this way, but honestly I think having Dark Sun as an intro to the album was a better and more elegant solution.

Still, it's not a huge niggle and I have to admit the remix sounds pretty drat good even on my tabletop speakers, so hey.

WINTERSUN 2.0

● MASTER FILES (24-bit, 44.1kHz wav), the ultimate listening experience!
● Also includes FLAC, high quality mp3s and more!
● Includes an enhanced PDF album booklet
● The absolute BEST version of Wintersun's historic debut album!
● Includes the original colossal Winter Madness Intro
● New track order: Album starts with the Winter Madness Intro followed by Winter Madness and Beyond the Dark Sun. The way it was originally meant to be!
● Remastered by Jari Mäenpää

Mastering refinements from the original album:

● Bigger, clearer, punchier sound
● Bass tighter and deeper
● Treble frequencies more clear and pleasing to the ear, no "dirty frequencies"
● Drums more audible and powerful
● More dynamics, not too much limiting and compression, "anti loudness war version"

I gave it a listen last night. Didn’t seem too different from the original to me, but it still sounds fine.
