Looks like this week will be another car vs public transit race, in a Ford GT from NYC to Niagara Falls.

I go NYC to Buffalo all the time and it's a lovely boring drive. Also cops.

edit: also the race doesn't do anything except highlight the dismal lack of funding for public transit in the US

Nope. Worked out as well as it could have, honestly. My wife and i were driving from iowa to nh for Christmas with the families. We have two big dogs and no decent dog boarders in the area, so we usually drive and take them with us. We ran into some bad blowing snow at the Indiana/Ohio border and got a hotel room. 8 hours later, the snow was still coming down over the next 600 miles we had to drive, so we drove back to iowa. So drive 8 hours, sleep 8 hours, drive 8 hours. A lovely 24 hours, but it was broken up. Now she's on a plane and I'm hanging out with the dogs.

I have done the trip from nh to iowa straight by myself once. It's not advised.

As an aside, after the Demon blew by me yesterday, I saw a different colored Charger heading the other way sitting behind a flat bed, running but unoccupied with a pair of state troopers behind that. I wonder what speed you'd have to be doing in Illinois to win a ride to jail instead of a ticket, assuming it wasn't an outanding warrant or something.

E: On TGT, having driven across NY on interstate 90 a ton, I can vouch for the left lane campers there. The only good thing I can say about the NY system is an ample supply of rest areas that stock local produce in the summers and some decent food options with clean bathrooms. Beats McDonald's the whole way with a building that reeks of poo poo and piss.

I did 1200 in a day solo my first time taking a long trip like that. Its not bad so long as you take a minute to walk around and stretch when getting gas or whatever.

I've done New York to San Francisco in 3 days with an Alzheimer's patient on a stretcher in a minivan wearing diapers.
My mom and I had to transport her mother from one side of the coast to the other when we moved because grandma was in a lovely home and mom wanted to be close to her in her final years.

It was a coffee and cigarette fueled adventure that involved my mom having to hose out the inside of the van due to a diaper blowout.

I was 18 and I don't think I'll ever forget the experience.

That poo poo sucked, it was so contrived. Seriously? Product placement with something that isn't auto related on this show? gently caress off.

I can't say that I'm overly happy with this season so far. Maybe they should just hang up their spurs and call it done. I think they are played out.

Aside from the fact that none of that stuff Jeremy tried would work, it was beyond unbelievable too because JetBlue doesn稚 have any classes, there痴 only economy. At least pick one of the other airlines that has a domestic first class

I'd rather have the "stars" be there to promote a movie than be some cricket player. But maybe try getting people promoting bigger movies than Paddington 2? How did they go from Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz to this?

Clarkson's family has a connection, and possibly financial stake, in Paddington. http://www.bbcamerica.com/anglophenia/2014/10/story-paddington-bear-jeremy-clarkson

I have skipped every celebrity thing they've done this season. They're just boring as hell.

As it is these episodes all feel about the same as the worst episodes of top gear, so that's alright I guess. They should do more challenges and specials. The Chiron hood cam and exhaust sound shots were awesome though.
