Not only is it stupid, it's obviously implausible! Even if it's snowing raids should keep going because so what? They're effectively zero cost to run, and it's not like they go away after a day of snow. And some people walk outside, even in the snow, so it'd be doubly dumb to stop them. and as a side note, we all know if Niantic did this godawful idea people in Australia would be complaining about "why the gently caress did Niantic stop raids during the summer?"

Personally I appreciate it because I often only manage one gym a day, so if my gym gets knocked out before midnight I get my full coins for that day.

Be careful, this is the point when people like him cross over from being frustrated at the game to trying to sabotage the company so that no one can play by complaining that simply allowing raids to happen everywhere else in the world = they're encouraging players to hurt themselves in dangerous weather in the places that has obviously dangerous weather anyone can see by looking up the moment they step outside. Ballz posted:So is it a thing to knock people out of gyms at 11:59 pm? I swear it happens to me at least once a week. The only thing I can think of is if the person is somehow playing on the old gym system logic where they want to take as many gyms as possible when a new day starts, manually collect their coins, and then not have to worry for the rest of the day. Maybe it's like a rogue bot account still running around with orders from the days of the old gym system and the user forgot its password or something. The real answer is probably just coincidence and someone sleeps just as late as you and is taking their dog for a walk before going to bed and knocking you out of your gym because they didn't have time the rest of their day to get something into a gym. AirRaid posted:The answer to this is the same answer Niantic has for anyone who doesn't live in an optimal place for PoGo play: "get hosed". As most people have evidenced, you have to live in a really rural or unimportant place to not be able to play normally. I don't know how Niantic is supposed to make more friends for you to play with, and I don't know why people living in lovely areas keep banging their heads against this game. The only complaints I can think of you guys having: 1. There's hardly any stops for us to get items! They make churches and post offices stops very often, which is like the core structures of every small town. I'm sorry your town decided to build somewhere with no jobs or reason for people to live at? 2. There's not enough people for raids! Most legendary raids take at minimum 7 mediocre accounts. Lead your own town's Facebook page or Discord channel, gather them up. If you don't have the advantage of having people raiding constantly to form casual groups, set playdates that people can agree on. Weekends are a good time I imagine. I don't know if you're asking Niantic to teach you to be social or to force more podunk, tech-fearing rural people to have interest in an AR mobile game or what. 3. The reception sucks where I live! Niantic doesn't build cell towers.

My Ex Raid pass was at a park, so it wasn’t initially cancelled, but now it definitely is. The park was closed today, so I don’t blame them for just canceling them all, but giving 2 normal raid passes versus rescheduling to like, this Saturday is loving lame.

Kinda wish I had someone to play with for these, because I have yet to get the chance to due to needing minimum 2 people.

I agree with mastershakeman (a Christmas miracle?), just track down a second phone for raids. You can bring your alt account up to a usable state pretty quick by going after Tyranitars, legendaries and weather boosted raid bosses.

If you want, you can even make your alt account a different team. I'm not saying to do that because I have no idea if it's ok or not according to Niantic. It's a decent idea for rural players because it's not uncommon to see your Pokemon stranded in gyms for days or even weeks. Like Mao said, alt accounts grow up real fast now because you can carry them through 2- and 3-head raids (and the raid pokemon won't be capped at the alt's level).

Pretty sure alts in general are against the tos. Not like they enforce anything that can't be automated though, so tethering a second phone to your main should be fine no matter what you do with it. Maybe just don't go bragging to discord about it. Or do if that's cool in your community. Around here alts are totally acceptable and even spoofers are mostly welcome with open arms (unless they play like dickbags) because most of the time we're just happy to get the numbers we need. Of course if you're setting up a second account because you can't find any other players that's probably not something you need to worry about anyway.

there's one person here who REALLY CARES about alts or even just bringing someone else's phone and nobody else gives a drat we have a pretty reasonable number of people who have one account but sometimes bring someone else's phone and double up on a raid and some people who just straight up have two phones and nobody cares. there's one couple I know with five phones between the two of them.

How many people does it take to beat a Groudon? I never gave a poo poo about the legendary birds and whatever, but this guy looks cool. Sadly, I'm out in the willie-whacks and there are hardly any people. The most people I've run into at a raid was 3, a father son team and a teenager.

Then a man pulls up in his car with his two sons and asks us if we've gone in yet. The kids have their own phones and are playing and the dad pulls out three separate phones and juggles them, giving us enough manpower to win the fight. It was actually pretty awesome.

It hasn’t really ever been fixed. It worked for like a day after the most recent iOS update but for whatever reason went right back to its incredibly laggy functionality. Had both, prefer Gotcha because my brain gets annoyed with the bzzzt bzzzt bzzzt of the Plus. And it's easier to use while driving. And it catches faster. You can set it to manual, where you poke the static switch to catch and spin, anyway, so it's like a Plus with more options. The biggest pain is charging it, and popping it in and out of the bracelet or pendant. Mine popped out of the bracelet last night, and I didn't notice it was gone for hours. I looked all through the house, nada. Finally went back to the store I went to last night, checked the parking lot. It was squished down into wet snow. I assumed it was bricked. Nope. As soon as I got it dry enough on the outside to use the static switch, it connected. It was definitely run over a few times in addition to sitting in wet snow for 25 hours. I'm a fan. (The pink arrow over the stop) I wonder if distance between the Gotcha and the phone is an issue. I had the wristband on the rear view mirror and the phone on my lap. I'll monitor it the next couple of days, try it on other devices, and return if needed. Thanks!
