New Zealand proving they're a cut above again. Great team.

Hoping Wales can get some of the kinks in their game plan worked out before the visit of the boks.

^lol France

Meanwhile, Japan almost beat France, and would've been justifiably disappointed that they were held to a 23-all draw.

Dragons drew 32 all with Ulster and it was a really enjoyable game. Ollie Griffiths and Dan Babos (Only 17!) were some real stand out players and this bodes well for the future of the Dragons.

Was a good game, Babos looked really good for a kid. Ulster are hosed for a ten when Christian leaves, we have a half season of Piutau to look forward to until our team reverts back to being the 2 good forwards plus Stockdale.

Can anyone recommend any actually good rugby autobiographies? I got my Dad Rala's one a couple of years ago, which I enjoyed a lot, but it might be nice to read one a bit more insightful and less light and fluffy.

Today Glasgow and Edinburgh play in the first of three 1872 Cup matches (used to be aggregate score over two matches but for some reason the powers that be wanted it to be a best of three affair, similar to Test series), the oldest inter-district rugby match in the world, where fans of both sides get to watch Glasgow ritually humiliate Edinburgh again and a number of Scotland internationals get hosed up just in time for the 6 Nations.

Off to a great start with 5th minute red card for Edinburgh.

I do like these derby weekends though, Ulster-Connacht always carries the risk of being a stinker but the Leinster-Munster game on Tuesday should be a cracker.

Good for them, but their player development is still totally hosed and it’s not clear whether scouting enormous Fijian teenagers will fill the gap.

It’s ironic, really. Aussie and Saffer plays aren’t developing because they’re leaving to make a living, and French players aren’t developing because all the best clubs are full of aussies and saffers and ex All Blacks.

I think they recently changed the rules so each club has to have a certain number of French national players in their teams but it's going to take a long time to fix the mess that hiring nothing but foreign players has created.
