It's currently available for $30 as an early release game and it's a couple of updates behind the PC's version and lacks some things like: the new desert map, the updated ballistics model, and a playable framerate. If you have any means at all of playing this game on a PC, then you should! It's way better on PC! But if you're stuck playing on a console, then this is the thread for you. For anyone who doesn't already know, PUBG is a survival shooter where 100 players start in a plane flying a randomized path over a 8km x 8km map and parachute jump out with no equipment and then loot and fight to the death until only one player/team is left standing. Here's a FAQ stolen from the PC thread with a few things added. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Does this game run like poo poo? Yes. When it first launched it was nearly unplayable, but there have been at least two updates so far that have made considerable improvements to performance. It still runs like rear end on a regular Xbox, and is notably smoother on an Xbox X. The PC version has seen large performance improvements over the last couple of patches, so expect to see this get better over time. Is there aim-assist? gently caress no. Is there bullet drop? Yes. Are the bullets hitscan? No. Are headshots an instant kill, regardless of the weapon? No, most headshots are not immediately fatal, but it depends on the weapon and helmet. What's "zeroing distance"? Zeroing distance is the distance your sights are set to hit. If you set your zero too high and aim with your center crosshair, your shots will go over your target's head. If you set them too low, and aim with the center, you will shoot under. Can you even adjust zeroing on the console version? Who knows! What am I supposed to do during the lobby? During the loading stage you need to get lucky so an M249 spawns on a table. Take the M249 and go in the middle of all the people and go prone and shoot all the bullets. This is to get their attention. Then drop all your clothes, followed by the M249. Then while still prone, position yourself in front of the M249 and move forwards and backwards so it looks like your loving yourself in the rear end. Bonus points if someone shoots your rear end in a top hat so it looks like it's bleeding. What are the best weapons? Vector, Uzi, and Crossbow. Is there loot on the starting island? Pro-tip: If you see someone go to spawn island, and decide to follow them and camp their boat, it's a good idea to loot some meds before you start camping so you don't die to the blue while you wait. Is there cross-play with PC? Not right now, but MS and Bluehole have stated that it will come eventually. How they're going to balance PC vs. Console is anyone's guess. Yeah a ton of people are complaining with how it runs, even on the One X. I knew what to expect and am having a blast with all of my friends. I'd gladly trade off the 4k for a bit more stability but such is the life of Game Preview.

I love PC MASTERRACERS conveniently forgetting the hella jank that was the PUBG launch. This game is going to shape up well (for xbox x owners, anyway). The button mapping is horrific, however. They need to cut ties with the PC controls completely.

Look at the controller mapping. It's a direction on the D-pad, then left trigger to aim, and I think left bumper to change the throw type (underhand or overhand) and then right trigger to throw.

Enjoying the game, but jesus, this thing crashes every other game for me. Also left bumper does nothing in normal control scheme? Why? Left click to run works in most games I've played but in this one it's bad, real bad. They should consider moving run to left bumper to make to easier to start and stop. GT is Teek for squad play.

Gosh, this game plays so awfully. The pop-in and rubberbanding sucks so bad. The "Game Preview" doesn't even do justice. it's more like a Game Preview preview. I'll only play PUBG with friends, but I'll primarily stick to Fortnite for my battle royale fix. However, I'm looking forward to the upgrades and fixes PUBG Corp. puts along the way. The crashing has gotten worse lately. Although it is amusing when you're driving with teammates in the car who are stuck until you can get back in the game or run into an object and stop.

Yeah earlier I dropped it while frantically running to the 3rd circle and didn't realize you keep moving. I rejoined to find myself in the middle of the 4th circle running through an open field.

What are everyone's favorite drop points? I personally gravitate toward the prison and the underground bunker slightly to the southwest of it. Also, what's the most accurate assault rifle at range? Gut feeling tells me it's the M16, and that the M416 isn't terribly accurate, but I honestly have no idea.

We usually drop South George, Home of the Otter Clan, or sometimes Prim. M16 is the most accurate assault rifle at range, but it has no full auto mode so it's OK to think of it as a ranged weapon and run another AR as your primary. So like AK/M16 instead of M16/SKS.

I get killed a lot by SCAR headshots. Not sure of the range, I can't see where they're coming from so I assume it's at some range since I don't see my body being looted immediately. I drop away from the punchfights. I did land on the roof of the school one time and killed three people coming up on the way down the stairs with the pump action shotgun I found. Was ambushed in the gym and killed on my way out.

 I always go to the building in the top right corner in duo. You will either have a car spawn in the garage or another vehicle across the street almost every time. All the wood heads go to the school and apartments.

This game has the most outrageously stingy unlock system I've ever seen. I guess it's just cosmetic crap but whatever. Also woo loot boxes. I won a round last night. I sort of couldn't believe it, because I can barely even wrangle the controls in the game or hit the broad side of a barn. It came down to me and another guy, both in a buggy and he just hit me head on and we floored it at each other in a standstill, for a good ten seconds before I realized that was all he had up his sleeve, so I just got out and shot him  Oh, and winning netted me like 800 points? Enough for 1/4 of a cool new pair of jorts.

Honestly the cosmetic stuff really doesn't make a huge difference since you accidentally put on zubaz and puffy shirts when you're trying to pick up some 5.56, or willingly put on one of those long black coats which I personally think look pretty rad with a level 3 helmet. All the clothing is more or less indistinguishable, anyway.

Yeah, I don't actually care. I've taken to starting out in my underpants anyways. It just makes me laugh that it takes hours of play just to unlock some lovely hat /pants and the price doubles each time you unlock a loot box.

That's just a direct port from steam, where they sell for .50 a piece unopened. I have been getting the hang of aiming with the controller and definitely am having fun with it. Playing on an OG xbone tho, my god.
