A not godawful backup point guard is sparse in this league.

When I was 17, my father was so stupid, I didn't want to be seen with him in public. When I was 24, I was amazed at how much the old man had learned in just 7 years.
TJ is the perfect "just don't mess it up" guard. I kind of think he could afford to shoot more than a single three a game but he's in a situation where he doesn't need to, at least right now.

He had that one year where he was inexplicably good for a stretch of games leading into the playoffs for the Lakers then predictably dudded in the playoffs. I always love it when randoms in the NBA go on big game streaks where they're unstoppable even though all their shots are janky and contested. Watching Lin hit that long contested 3 for the win in Toronto during Linsanity was like seeing a coin flip land on tails 25 times in a row. Pretty neat.

People were legitimately excited for Ramon Sessions, Starting Lakers Point Guard just because they were so thankful that it wasn't Fisher anymore.

I am legitimately surprised every time one of his mid range/chippy jumpers don't go in.

While we are talking about random Sixers guards, am I the only one that feels like JJ has the worst hands of any guard ever? I feel like dokmo could make an amazing highlight reel of him pump faking and having the ball slip out of his hands on his own, or having his passes not go anywhere near where they are clearly intended to go.

Yeah,i get what you mean, but his turnover rate seems to be about the same as previous years, his assists are up (like,a lot,but he had a diferent role in la)but 3p% is down while his usage also slightly dipped.he just seems to be taking more bailout shots.

If IT wanted to be remembered fondly in Boston then maybe he shouldn't have cynically left to go to a superteam while Ainge and everyone in Boston begged him to stay and did everything they could to keep him there (is the only scenario where this kind of statement from Ainge makes sense)

And then there's Bayless, the other Sixers guard who gets a ton of minutes and finds the worst ways to commit unforced turnovers.

Sixers making a playoff run will depend a lot on at least one of these guys having a very efficient game every night so I don't really like their chances anymore.

Oh they're certainly problems too. But the veterans need to be a stabilizing force to balance out the stars trying to create. Also, the other difference is that Simmons and Embiid's turnovers are at least usually a result of pretty good defense, instead of like trying to dribble the ball behind the back and losing it.
