Does the combination of high cp, total reliance on play rough to be viable and a complete absence of quick fairy type moves make Slaking the best fairy type attacker in the game despite a lack of STAB?

Gardevoir is very good, if a bit of a glass cannon. Also, it lacks a fairy fast type (is there a fairy fast type in the game?).

I maxed out my Slaking to 4511 CP, and 9 times out of ten it will body any gym Dragonite with two PR attacks, the damage output is bonkers

It's a fun mon to use if you want to try and solo a gym with a wide variety of defenders when you wanna muscle your way through, would recommend

edit: on a different subject, I'm really enjoying my Swampert. I got one with Mud Shot/Earthquake and it seems to do a lot of damage - builds up energy quick and earthquake levels everything.

Nope, you can't even have a fairy Hidden Power. It's why I thought that Slaking (whose whole gimmick in Go is that it doesn't need a quick move to deal decent amounts of damage) might be a perfect fairy type attacker.

Still haven't gotten one. I only raid a few time a month and the parks in town are stops and not gyms, so that's probably got something to do with it. I actually haven't seen a sponsored gym anywhere around here, seems like they're all stops too.

I hope when they rotate in the next EX raid, they'll make Mewtwo a normal raid for a while so I can actually catch one.

They really need a points system for this EX pass thing. Ten raids at a sponsored gym and you get a guaranteed pass; only adds 1 point per day so players can't exploit it

There you go, problem solved Niantic, pay me a giant satchel of money wired to my Swiss bank account

The guy who organized the main raid group in my city, and had close to 700 legendary raids on his medal, did not get a pass until the previous round even though they've been handing them out for quite some time here! It seems like the game has something against lvl 40s getting passes.

My favorite thing about Mewtwo is watching as people who are excited about getting it for the first time come back a week or two later to report how easily Mewtwo dies in battle when used. Even if powered by as many rare candies as possible.

The only thing worthy about it is the dex completion. That's why I really wish I could give my EX raid pass to someone who's never done it. Luckily the one issued for this coming Tuesday is on my day off or otherwise I'd skip this weird 3:00PM start time for the raid.

Don't go to any random "sponsored" gym. Gyms that have hosted EX raids in the past are much more likely to host them again. Find where your local gyms are that have already handed out EX passes, and raid those gyms exclusively. Anything else, even sponsored gyms, is much less likely to yield an EX pass.

Possibly related, no Exraid pass for me and Niantic is still using poo poo raidtimes. I've basically started looking at MewTwo as a regional, something you're unlikely to ever get.

my Mewtwos have won over half my all time battles, they're insanely good

I use them mostly against blissey/snorlax in gyms since those are the only tedious things, and because I'm cursed to never have good fighting pokes. 11 hariyama (1 double fighting) and 12 machamp (3 double fighting), so 4/23 with desired moves (let alone dynamic punch on only two of those four). 3 total charge TMs since august, so no point in trying to fix movesets, just keep on making more fighting pokes who never get fighting moves.

It's good for smacking Machamps, that's about all I use mine for. Unless I care enough to slide it in to punch a fighting or poison type in a regukar gym battle. Usually I don't.

I also got a pass the very first round, and dumped at least 350k dust and hundreds of candies into powering up various counters. As everyone now knows, beating it with 18 people takes about 40 seconds. I still want a dust refund.

Oh, and one of the people I play with finally got an invite! Except he's in HS and it's at 1:15 PM. I'm gonna go for him, but yeesh. This system is so stupid. I don't blame anyone for wanting one, especially at this point, but goddamn the payoff is meh for the amount of hype the system creates.

This is absolutely nothing but a theory based on personal experience, but it seems raiding at a gym for the first time/first time in a while may trigger an EX pass invite, if that gym gets an EX raid. I got several early on, in Sept/Oct, and had resigned myself to not getting one for quite a while. Did a random Cloyster in a park to burn my free pass, and ended up getting an invite to an EX raid there not long after. Back in mid December. A new sponsored gym popped, and a few high levl serious players who seemed to have been removed from the invite pool got invites to an EX raid there.

Could be coincidence or horseshit, obviously. I'm going to test it eventually, there's a gym nearish my house that I hate going to because it's the wrong direction to go if I want to do any other raids after . Haven't been to a raid there for about a month, month a half. It's been getting EX raids recently, Nov/Dec, plus one upcoming.

Gonna wait another month or two, then hit it hard. Assuming it's still getting passes. Trying to enlist friends who also don't raid out there, since even a handful of people would be a better test group than one person.

I think that's caused by two things:

1) the obvious answer - a nerf to mewtwo's HP stat. This is how niantic has been nerfing legendaries so far, including ho oh, groudon, and kyogre. The attack and defense stats still correspond with their main series stats.

2) inflated expectations - people who aren't familiar with the main series aren't accustomed to how each Pokémon has a different stat build and only measure by CP, so they're surprised mewtwo isn't as bulky as tyranitar or snorlax. Mewtwo's defensive stats are still a massive improvement over other offensive psychic types like alakazam, exeggutor, espeon, and gardevoir. Also mewtwo doesn't have the best offensive or defensive typing but it can't be beat when it comes to raw neutral damage.

I don't know if it will be released as an EX raid or a normal raid but rayquaza has a very similar stat build to mewtwo but with dragon/flying typing so when it comes out it will probably be the best offensive Pokémon in practice.

White Light

I'm close to maxing out my only Mewtwo, and I've decided to change up his movepool a bit!

First I had it altered to Confusion/Psychic for that sweet, sweet STAB damage, but theres not enough versatility out of a pure psychic attacker so I changed Focus Blast. Got a lot of use out of that, but decided to switch up the quick move to Psycho Cut so I could dodge better.

Today I changed him to Confusion cause Cut doesn't hit hard enough with psychic STAB damage for my liking, and the charge rotated to Shadow Ball since it's the best one for flat damage on all typing overall when I wanna do gym sweeps with little effort or planning. I do like how my psychic tumor cat has a lot of options when it comes to his charge moves, we'll see how it fares on my raids this afternoon

Not here they didn't. Karp nest still poppin' and everything.

I'm liking spawns more since the event is over, nothing went from common to especially rare from Gen III. Less Torchic and Treecko here, but that's good. More Wailmer, which is excellent, because I caught a perfect one. Only level 7 though, so I need about 600 candies to make him a proper big boy.

Luckily, the Zangoose/Seviper switch was outside of the usual nest rotation. I'm a bit grumpy about the end of the event though, Slakoths have become WAY less common and I didn't manage to catch a decent one during the event :(

I'm in a water biome so there are more Wailmers now than there were before, which is great. My main issue is I didn't get enough candy to get to Sceptile so I'm probably stuck until either I get lucky with a nest or the weather gets better to boost grass spawns.
