The problem with any attempt at another Mass Effect game in the near future is it would almost certainly be helmed by Mac Walters (presuming he wasn't shuffled into a constructive-dismissal make-work position with the rest of the non-cherry-picked members of Bioware Montreal). That's a prospect nobody wants.

All major sci-fi franchise sequels this year were huge letdowns for me, yet all new sci-fi properties were extremely good. Maybe Luke Shepard was right. Maybe it truly is time for the Mass Effects, to end.

a mass effect Sims clone where you design your own ship and buy clothing and decoration lootboxes for your MEs. pronounced "mees" when your MEs have sex it zooms into a choose your own adventure softcore porn minigame, if you last a long time you get credits to spend on lootboxes you can pay RL money for replay tickets, allowing you to bang your subordinates more than once a day coming in 2019

I'd just retcon it so Sovereign's failure on the Citadel results in the Reapers forgetting about our galaxy for another couple millennia. Shepard's space adventures continue, and she lived happily ever after.

You choose a color at the start of Mass Effect 4 - Red nothing happens, there's a line about how they rebuilt - Blue there's a line about how the Reapers rebuilt stuff then self destructed - Green you're asked to pick again. If you pick Green again there's a green filter over the whole game

The big moral choice at the end of ME:Krogan is whether to screw over the Krogran ark for some nebulous and contrived reason to help all arks survive or to decide to gently caress everyone else over for only the Krogan's gain. The first option is permanently greyed out.

The Green ending just means there's an extra line about how awesome nanotechnology is now but no effective gameplay changes because they effectively had nanotechnology before anyway. Sometimes when you get mad they say "uh oh, green eyes mad!" But it doesn't effectively change anything. The Engineers and Infiltrators get green eyes and the Sentinels wear cool shades so you can't tell what's up with them, man, maybe they've been smoking the green.

You're forgetting about the sentient hats. Because synthetic apparently means 'looks like a printed circuit board' in Mass Effect land. I agree, Let it die. I still wanted Mass Effect after 3 because I thought the universe might be salvageable. Now I think that even if they manage to make a good game or two, some franchises (I'm looking at you, Star Wars) are better served by just ending instead of going on forever. Bring on the new poo poo. Give me more Horizon, plug that poo poo into my veins.

Did Andromeda ever fix bioware's issue of being incapable of writing a player character who actually sounded smart? I know Hale and Meer put their damndest into their voice performances for Shepard, but the underlying dialogue they are given just isn't that good. They make it authentic though, no denying that. I've been looking at other Bioware titles and with the exception of origin specific dialogue options indra gin Age Origins, every Bioware protagonist has come off as an over eager yet entirely naive and ignorant doofus.

I'd say Shepard's a mixed bag. There was definitely an effort with some of the "Tell me about X" lines to have it sound like Shep knew what the hell she was talking about and was just trying to make sure that everyone was on the same page. On the other hand, there were also scenes like with the council in ME1 where no matter what you picked Shepard sounded like a crazy person. Ryder does not have the highlights.
