I feel ashamed that I've never seen this. I spent a lot of time watching standard tv in the 90s to the early 2000s and never caught it :/

That scene with travolta walking out from behind the rocks with the inexplicable smoke behind him. I love John Woo.

Another film I used to catch on the telly all the time: MISSION:IMPOSSIBLE.

Directed by Brian De Palma, so full of directorial exuberance and stylistic excess. SO GOOD

I will not shut up about the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. I talk about them all the time and work them into every conversation I have. I built a shrine in my room for the yellow one who died because sadly no one noticed because she died around 9/11. Wanna see it?

yeah they really seem to lose their oof when they shipped out of hong kong. but i think hong kong is platonic ideal of action movie locales anyway

HARD TO KILL, HARD BOILED, DIE HARD, and DIE HARD WITH A VENGEANCE are clearly superior action movies with the word "hard" in their title.

Hard Target is great but my favorite JCVD movie is Double Impact where he he has a long lost twin and fights Bolo Yueng again. Bonus John Woo connection it has the guy that gets shot on the train and falls on the brake or whatever in Broken Arrow.

:patriot:
John Woo rules. I was just thinking about the cinematography in Hard Boiled during the restaurant bird cage shootout. Hard Target is a solid John Woo movie, but I fell it suffers from some odd characters.

The Killer (1989) starring Chow Yun Fat is great, I recommend it if you haven't seen it yet.
