You're not wrong. I would say that there are couple other good ones (On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Licence To Kill) but there's really only one or two truly good Bond films per Bond.

Maybe that's the secret, they should just cast a new Bond for every film and then they'll all be good! :v:

As much as I enjoy Goldeneye and appreciate Pierce in the role, his films had an amazingly precipitous decline in quality. Die Another Day is like Star Wars prequel bad.

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\It's got a killer theme song but Denise Richards cosplaying as Lara Croft, Nuclear Scientist, is so, so, so terrible. Easily one of the worst female leads.

Die Another Day, for me, is so bad that it's almost good. The opening, credits, and theme song are actually some of my favorites of the series. And it's consistently fun to watch, at least, unlike Tomorrow Never Dies, which is just boring.

To wrap this back around to TV, has there been any further news on Amazon courting EON for the Bond rights? I feel like them doing a film/series is probably the best case scenario for the property.

I'm actually inclined to agree. But I was 13 when it came out so of course I think so.

Sounds like Amazon is out of the running as EON decided not to sell the franchise outright. MGM and Annapurna are doing the domestic distribution for the next movie, and Universal, Sony and WB are all vying for the international rights.

You should really change this. His standup kinda blows, but the combo of him and Larry David together and the chemistry between them and Jason Alexander and Michael Richards and Julia Louis-Dreyfous was god tier.

There are 180 episodes of Seinfeld, and like...at least 150 of those are all-time classics.

A bunch of MGM's former marketing and distribution executives now work for Annapurna, and they announced last year they were launching a new MGM Annapurna distribution entity together. Basically, MGM was tired of being so broke that they had to rely on their co-producers like WB and Sony to actually handle distribution so Annapurna put in a huge investment.

The big money from Bond movies (at least two-thirds) comes from outside North America, which is why so many other large studios are still trying to get those international rights for Bond 25.

james bond is inherently a misogynist character from jump street. like you have to actively scrub that off, and none of the Craig bond movies really do that.

That said, Casino Royale and Skyfall are okay action movies.

The most disappointing thing about Tomorrow Never Dies (which is a movie I like) is that MGM claimed to be planning a spin-off movie starring Michelle Yeoh as her Tomorrow Never Dies character, which could have been fun.

Sony wanted to do the same thing with Halle Berry in Die Another Day but I think she opted out because she wanted to do Catwoman.

Watching The Gifted on Hulu and they for some reason screwed up last night's episodes. Fox aired two episodes but Hulu only showed me the first one and then said I was all caught up. Digging into the episode list and they also had another episode that was both episodes smashed together.

Unrelated but I read something interesting about Adult Swim's newest show, Hot Streets. Apparently the only reason it exists is because Justin Roiland went to bat for it with Mike Lazzo as they originally passed on the pilot. Roiland originally saw it when it was part of Channel 101, he fell in love with how weird it was and agreed to do a voice on it to help it get made.

I watched it, both the pilot and the two new episodes that aired this week and, bla. It's just not that good. I don't think it's weird enough if that's what they were going for.

On a different note, I finally got around to watching Galavant for the first time and I'm really bummed it's not a thing that's still running.

I still don't understand why they tried to go full Shannarra when they could have done the prequel Word and Void series. Which has a much more TV friendly premise in that it was set in the modern day and followed a magical knight-errant who saw the future whenever he slept and used this to try and stop evil schemes. Even his magic powers were TV friendly in that he had reasons not to use them constantly and only brought them out as a last resort.

I watched a couple episodes and it's pretty funny but the animation is Newgrounds-level cheap. I guess it makes sense that it was based on a Flash webtoon then
