The punk scene in my city has a Facebook page/YouTube channel that is just about posting videos from local shows. The 5 or so contributors go to lots of shows, record a video of a whole song, and post it. It’s gotten me into several groups, I rely on it in a big way for finding out about shows, etc. It kills me that the rap scene here, or elsewhere, doesn’t have this kind of community to it. The zero-sum attitude in succeeding in rap helps to fuel beef and antagonism. gently caress that guy, because you can’t BOTH be eating. More and more, the BasedGod approach of releasing tons of free music, being positive and promoting positivity, and just really enjoying the art of rap and its culture. That seems like a much more sustainable attitude. Sorry, I just see stuff like those payouts and it reminds me how much corporations gently caress people who are creating some real poo poo. I'm assuming it's what the artist gets. That YouTube number lines with with what's been alluded to by alot of top YouTube people.
