The G502 is a similar size with similar features and a much better sensor, although the thumb buttons are in a different configuration, there are still three of them.

Alright, so I admit I was wrong about the G502. I picked it up with a GC just to see...and this thing blows the 602 out of the water with how drat smooth it is. I barely notice the cord for the most part even without a bungee.

I would *almost* tolerate the weight of the current g502 if it were wireless. Almost. Because if it were of the "uses AAs" design, I would most certainly only ever run it with a single battery. As it stands, I might actually prefer a lighter G502 rev 2 instead.

Just to give the devil their due, I still like Razer Deathadder, been using one for over five years. I've tried a Logitech G400S, I just like the feel of the Deathadder much more. One thing in particular is the middle mouse button, I use it a lot for games, and I like how it's big and taller on the Deathadder, feels great. Are there any other good gaming mice that have that style of middle mouse button (the scroll wheel button)? So it's not low and sunken in feeling? And in general I'm good with just the two buttons on the left side, and don't need more than 1200 DPI. Also like wired. I agree the Razer synapse program is dumb though, and I know Razers can mess up, I've just had good luck and really dig the design. edit: looking at the more recent Logitechs, it does look like the middle mouse buttons may be more up my alley in size/height. I assume the talk about "non-integer" multiplier not influencing accuracy means sensitivity values less than 1.0, so anything below 6/11 would be fine. One of the reasons I picked up an EC1-A was to get a more pronounced middle mouse button, similar to a Deathadder. The ergonomics are similar to a Deathadder too, it's just slightly bigger near the palm area.

It would seem after about 8 years of working my G500 is starting to crap out. This morning my scroll wheel, while still working, isn't making the clicking that it should. I have also noticed over the last few months that right click has been finicky as well. Suggestions on replacement? I guess my only requirement is a clicky scroll wheel. This is for my desktop so wired is preferred as well.

I asked Logitech to replace my G900. They sent me a new mouse without making me return the defective one. Now I have two G900's. I wonder why they didn't make me return my defective mouse? Maybe the G900 is too old for them to care?

They're pretty liberal with how they dole out replacements if there's any form of defect present in the model/revision you're requesting a replacement for. I've had 3 MX518's at one time in the past with only minor usb cable/sticky clicking issues.

Replaced the skates on my M500 with some Teflon ones I ordered off Ebay and I am in agony. Feel like I'm overshooting with the cursor and it occasionally jumps when trying to click. What can I do? Adjusting cursor speed doesn't seem to be helping. I'm thinking a mouse pad with a bit more friction to it? Can I order OEM skates from Logitech somehow?

The natural position for me has the back button slightly off the center of my thumb and the tip of my thumb resting on the side scroll wheel. That leaves the forward button in an awkward place where I can only press it with the side of my thumb.

Yes, it's actually a bit lighter and it will be cheaper and on significant sale often. They added the stupid modular weight system to the G903 for some reason, and even when empty the magnet lid adds bulk.

The only reason I'm considering "gaming" mice is that I don't want something that's cheap garbage, and I like the shape and extra 2 side buttons of the one I have. I had to turn those off.

Welp, the Rival 300 didn’t even make it to a year. Bought in April 2017 and the middle mouse button crapped out and being that I am without a backup, I picked up a Logitech G502 from the local Target after price matching to 50 bucks. Sure came at a great time after I spent over 900 bucks on a new PC build.

What's the life expectancy on gaming mice? This basic Logitech G303 I purchased mid-2015 has started phantom-double-clicking, which led to me learning today that this is a long-standing issue with Logitech mice in general. Do Corsair and Razer mice hold up better over the long-term? Or should I just resign myself to having to buy a replacement mouse every couple of years? On that note, which of Corsair's mice would be similar to a G303? I control my mice with my fingers, mostly with my thumb and ring finger while my pointer and middle hover over the Left and Right buttons accordingly. My palm typically floats above the whole thing. I'm not sure if this is really what I prefer, or a grip I developed after years of too-small/too-light mice. I'm just not sure how best to size my hand to a mouse.

Ah, you got me... it was the IntelliMouse Optical, the ambidextrous one with the big back/forward buttons on opposite sides. I loved that mouse for gaming. The last time I tried to buy one on eBay it was a pretty accurate clone passed off as original but it died pretty fast.
