My event only sucked when I didn't bring my spare cords and my usual charge cord poo poo out. But drat it was fun watching people find the little figures! edit: Now drama in planning a raid train tomorrow. The Discord's group's leader is out tomorrow, and they start usually by 6am. Another group starts about 830/9am. I am a member of both groups but haven't been hitting the 6am group lately. So I let them know hey, the late morning group is going to start about 9, anyone want in? Somehow this got me volunteered to lead the 6am raid, and when I declined, someone got pissy and said I always try to take over when we do the early raids (which has been some weeks) so now I have to do it, in their words. Then again the same person told people they need to skip church/family functions to raid. So I hope he's joking. One, I have never tried to take over, all I've done is read the map and try to find more spots for us to hit. Two, I'm not going to be up and raiding at 6am. And three, if there's 6 of you people arguing over me being the volunteer, one of you idiots can take my place! Managed to plus 3 Shinies. Spent all my charge TMs to make Witch / Ash / Party / Santa Hat Pikachu with Surf. (They also have Present) I did 1.6 million xp yesterday during the event. I came in with 350 Pokeballs and went for 20 minutes without any balls because I was busy trash evolving. Remora posted:Just picked up the game. The OP says not to bother powering up stuff you catch before lv10, but I caught two 90+% mons - still don't bother with them? Unless what you have is something crazy rare like a 100 Porygon or Lapras, you should probably wait for a better one. Now that we have weather, you're bound to find better ones.

Also thank you Niantic for bringing back a normal menu that doesn't snap back up to the top, but why did they screw with the Pokemon models? I encountered a tiny Venusaur and like really tiny Barboach that I could barely see, and now Natu and Rattata are huge. Not to mention every Pokemon looks horribly placed in the buddy Pokemon bubble. They're like floating at weird levels or super close to the camera so you only see their mouth or something.

The super funny thing is that there was no train at all at 6 a.m. now because no one else volunteered to be up that early? I mean there was a group of like four or five people at all really wants to do is 6 a.m. one but not a single one of them would actually lead the train. We ended up doing the 9 a.m. group which still wasn't the best because people would flake out after one or two which meant that we had a really strong group for the first two raids in for everything after we were barely squeaking by. But it's all good I finally got my sky whale orca. And to the dip that did one raid but couldn't do anymore and kept arguing because he really wants another perfect Sky whale Orca, screw you. Pretty much everyone in the group didn't have one yet but he likes to show off he already had a 100% one and was bragging that his other five or six at only 95 or 90%. And he was going to trash them. Know your audience.

The really funny part to me is that I had assumed the model fuckery was to fix poo poo like Wailmer and Wailord, but my Wailmer buddy is now EVEN MORE ZOOMED IN THAN BEFORE  all I can see is like one of his little baleen teeth.

Seems like the recent update includes a feature I’ve wanted for ages - ball selection now appears to persist between catches! Super useful for when I end up with dozens of extra Great Balls and want to use them up.

Lucky me I decided to end raiding early today before the game went down for everyone. Also I don't like the "remember which ball was last used" bit because it means more switching back on average, but I'll gladly deal with that over the Pokemon inventory not staying in place thing they just finally fixed. I'll also take Kyogre finally not being impossibly far away anymore even if he still escapes every catch attempt.

The release said that they did it to make smaller pokemon that people want easier to hit.  During the community day I used incense to lure more Pikachu. Better yet, it was a large group, so Kyogre barely even hit one of my pokemon before it went down and the reward contained 12 new revives. Best haul ever! (I also caught a weather boosted Kyogre who is currently in the lead for being the heaviest Kyogre caught in our Raid group.)

Just a heads up that this carries over to a Go+ / Gotcha, i.e. whatever you were using to catch with is what the accessory will try to use. BUT they can’t actually use anything except regular balls, so if your last catch attempt wasn’t with a regular ball, they won’t work at all for catches. Until Niantic fixes it, you need to attempt a catch with a regular ball then either catch the pokemon or exit the catch screen. I was just using my Go+ and it defaulted back to regular balls after I used ultra balls to catch something of my own. I'm also up to date on the latest version too.

I think my biggest annoyance with this raid cycle is that everyone in raid groups talks about best mons to use, inevitably Raikou comes up (which, yeah he's the best counter), and everyone pronounces Raikou wrong - always Raiku, not Raiko. I once said "Well it's actually Raiko" and a guy with a neckbeard said "I don't care. I'm going to pronounce it the way it's spelled" And then immediately took a hit on his vape pen. All that was missing was the fedora.

This is the one I ordered and as far as I know I got a real one. It's a little tricky to get it paired to my phone, and you have to reconnect it every hour or so but it works. Scoops up loads of pokemon when I'm walking around, but it's slow enough I can still tap on the rarer ones if I spot them first. Fits my playstyle of catching them now, sorting through them later.

Got a 3rd EX Pass, this time it's at a dog park near my house. Level 37, had a silver badge for the gym, only raided there once (Kyogre) on 1/18. Raid's set for 1/31 at 1 pm, such a stupid loving time.
