GTJustin posted:I got my go-tcha at a GameStop and it's worked fine. I only wish they had a battery indicator. Would be nice. I heard a lot of stories about ones being DOA, so I started with Amazon, and have just continued the trend. We triggered an EX raid locally. Quite a bit of coordination in the Discord, but it boiled down to hitting the one easily accessible gym in an S2 cell hard. Massive groups for L5s, lots of lobbies of 1-5 for smaller raids. Mapping the S2 cells has also supported the idea that two or more popular gyms in one cell will just alternate. Of course, the system is still hosed and broken, and the two people who put in the most effort (me and a friend, I live 4 blocks from the gym and he works three blocks from it) got zip. Tons of people did one Magikarp and got a pass, including both of our alt accounts (levels 19 and 24) and my kiddo's account (28). While I'm all for new people getting passes, the fact that I get nothing on my main account in my golded hone gym kind sucks. Doesn't need to get another pass, just.. something. Some drat incubators or something. The system is just stupid. I have several Mewtwo, and I freely admit that puts me ahead of anyone who doesn't. It still sucks to be left out. There's a girl who is a very, very young 23 in my town, she's only permitted to play at her house and at the park across the street. I used to give her rides to raids, but I felt like I had adopted a spoiled rear end kid, tbh, so I haven't been doing so lately. She has had eight passes on her main account, first from riding around with me and us happening to hit the right gyms, now from the fact that enough of the nearby players go out of their way to raid at her park with her so she can beat the bosses. She wrote Niantic an an angry letter! Because of the lack of raids between invites going out and the actual EX raids. She basically tried to put the responsibility of making up for the fact that she's a grown woman who isn't allowed to go anywhere out of sight of her house on Niantic. Im sure they'll get right on it. Speaking from experience, it's loving annoying. That's her job.

Has Niantic ever acknowledged the existence of the dodge glitch? It's more or less plagued the game since the near beginning and it's probably one of the most impactful bugs. Yet they don't appear to be doing anything about it.

I like how Niantic has gone with a staggered release of Gen3 as releasing all of Gen2 at once lead to huge dry spells of content. At this point I feel all they need to do is improve water spawns. Lotad and Feebas are crazy rare, even next to rivers/creeks or when it's raining. They're the only sets of evolutions I'm missing.

Willsun posted a list last page, there are 50 non-legendary Gen 3 Pokemon left, so yeah, we still won't be done after this. Makes sense, staggering 135 new Pokemon over the course of 2 or so months 4 times does breathe a lot of life back into the game and makes them all pretty obtainable at one point or another. This will be harder to do for the 107 Sinnoh Pokemon, since if you remove the cross-gen evolutions (which will probably never spawn) and the legendaries (which you can't get if you're rural), that only leaves 63 Pokemon that you'll be able to actively hunt for and not just instantly get if you have the evolution item or whatnot.

I'm hoping that they start the trickle of cross-gen evos like Magmortar and Electivire before the rest of the Gen 4s. I feel like they'll really overshadow everything else if they all show up at the same time.

It is insane how rare Feebas and Lotad are, though. Especially Feebas because to evolve it you need to walk it, so I’ve been trying to get a good one before I start that and it just isn’t happening.

I've seen enough Feebas along the canals here, and Lotad appeared all over the place when it rained, especially during the water event. The main one I still need more candy for is Corphish...

I really do like the Staggering but I can do without some of the Gen 1 Nests at this point. If lorad is so rare does that mean even in places like Seattle where it rains a lot they don't spawn so much?

It feels like quite a few of the gen 3 water spawns are rare, I'm in a water biome and haven't managed to evolve Corphish or Carvanha, and the only reason I've got Whiscash is I caught a wild one.

If Lotad always spawned as often as it does when its raining Ludicolos would be all over the place. If someplace was rainy all the time you'd have no problem just naturally accruing lotad candy. The problem is when you only have "rainy" weather for a few hours at a time every few days or weeks, they're not common enough to go hunt for in short bursts. Not that it's stopped players around here from doing exactly that and driving all over town on the trail of lotad spawns.

My only Lotad just popped up in front of me while it wasn't raining. Wasn't even near a river, so I was very confused.
