Corporate is a really funny show on Comedy Central. I'm just two episodes into it and sometimes it leans too hard on the "life is an empty void and everything is meaningless" schtick but otherwise it's a really unique show. Each episode also looks really slick, something like a dark David Fincher or Soderbergh joint except it's a comedy. Lance Reddick is also hysterical as an evil boss. I don't know why he was typecast before this. If you like Office Space then give this a shot.

CW's Charmed reboot is moving forward with a pilot ordered but one major change from the original announcement, which was that it was going to be a prequel series set in the 70s. Well, they've ditched that and instead it will be modern day and feature characters who are unconnected to the original show.

I'm actually off on that, it wasn't until later seasons that they started running promos that were all about how hot and sexy the actresses were.

My favorite part is that even though Lance was in on the whole thing (obviously), Eric and Hannibal had no idea he was going to put his fist through the desk. That momentary flash of "OH gently caress" on Eric's face is genuine because I'd be terrified if Lance Reddick's fist was bearing down at me, too.

The best part of the show will always be Hannibal’s reactions. They send him the scripts but he almost never reads through them, just skimming at most, so most of his reactions to the bizarre poo poo are genuine.

Was that any good? I still have it sitting on my DVR and I'm debating picking it up as one of my new binges as I'm currently without any after finishing Psych and Gifted. I'll skip it if it was bad or had a frustratingly unresolved ending.

I put it on my DVR list, but never got to it. I think Logan Marshall-Green (the poor man’s Tom Hardy) was great in Quarry, and I hate to see yet another series he stars in only to get one season.

Escobarbarian posted:

my mum was like “hey watch whatever you want” and I noticed my dad had the season premiere of High Maintenence so I put it on and then there was a very explicit threesome montage

also it was a pretty good episode but I prefer the ones that focus on one or two stories instead of hopping around

I was browsing HBO for something to watch the other day when I stumbled upon High Maintenance, and all I remembered ever hearing about it was someone posing about a threesome and watching it with their parents. So we watched the whole first season in 1 day (first time we ever did this, but it was only 6 episodes). There was a minor threesome during one episode (the one about swingers and the clap), and I was like whoever posted about watching with their parents extremely over exaggerated how explicit that threesome and must be a prude. Well then the next night we watched the season 2 premiere, and I was like 'Oh that is what they were talking about'. Yes it was pretty graphic. Also the punchline to the threesome (when she finds out they are brothers) was great.

Overall I really liked the series (glad they are doing 10 episodes this season), and I enjoyed the reactions to the disaster (although we both figured out what it was from the very start) in the season 2 premiere. I wonder if Master of None got the idea for it's 'New York, I Love You' episode from this series. I know the bouncing to characters has been done many times before (Slacker), but the New York feel of both of these is forcing me to compare them.

So I watched last night's episode of X-Files and... yeah, I think I'm done with the show. I can't possibly think of a better finale than The Lost Art of Forehead Sweat. Even the hardcore fans on Reddit are really happy with it, which is surprising considering that it openly mocks the pointlessness of the series' return.

It was honestly a stroke of genius (although obvious) to center a whole episode around real life today making the conspiracies in the X-Files look straightforward and and almost mundane.
