Ben won the mini challenge, the first challenge, and the first lipsync to glowing praise from every judge. There is no way in hell Morgan, should she have won, would let Ben stay after that. That was Ben saving her own rear end further down the line in case Morgan got top 2. If she was eliminating based on judge critique she would have eliminated the queen who got read for her look and her performance, plus (at least to me) had a sort of defeated attitude in the workroom. It might have just been owning the mistakes but it came off as resignation to being kicked off.

God I'm in heaven. I've never seen season 1, 2, or 3 so I got fresh eyes on those girls. Bebe made my jaw drop. She's gorgeous, she poised and polished and she can loving bring it. I love it. As soon as ChiChi walked out in flat jazz shoes, I felt so bad for her. It's so much a bad bad mistake and really there's no excuse. You know better! I hope it's just first day back nerves and she turns it out later. Trixie, my love. I adore her and I thought her song was so sweet. I feel like she's intimidated by the other queens though. Just like in her other season. Maybe it's the editing but her joviality seemed lacking. Ugh thorgie stop with the slams about your season and Bob. Get loving over it. Kennedy's dance killed me. I actually clapped when she was done. Aja is still Aja. She has more confidence, so that's good, but I think she thinks she's more important than she is. During her talking head portion she kept saying how Morgan should have brought more to her. To HER. No. NO. This is not Aja's drag race. STOP. Any way I am going to bed happy. Can't wait for the next episode!

I watched an post-episode thing with Alaska and I'm drawing a blank on who was her guest that night, but one of them said that Morgan had a great strategy if she didn't announce it to the rest of the group. Ben and Bianca were my top two in season 6, so I'm delighted to see Ben back this time.

What I like about ChiChi is that she didn't make any excuses for herself. Just "yes, I made a mistake, I'll do better." I mean, that shouldn't be exceptional, but so many queens have excuses for DAAAYS. I have no idea who's going to win but of course I'm rooting for Trixie. I think this will be a good season, hopefully there isn't a Roxxxy situation this time around. Although the queens seem to have the same opinions of that poo poo as the fans did/do.

She didn't make a scene, just talked about how fortunate she was to appear twice on the show and how great an opportunity it was. For as much as Morgan talked about wanting to win the money and shamelessly booting the strongest competitor, I think she has a very healthy attitude overall. She's in it to win it, but when she gets booted she's calm and chill and is thankful for the opportunity. Morgan McMichaels is ambitious but a total pro.

Thorgy is the worst human being, in the benign sense, that has ever set face on this earth. Attacking poor Bob, who I don't even like, because they had to employ a coping mechanism of excessive speaking just to shut out the thought of that dreadlock neurotic & self-diagnosed 'intellectual' existing in the same space. I can't wait for lots more Thorgy next week like a scab I want to re-crust so I can pick at it more.

Thoughts upon rewatch: Aja got really good work. It's subtle but effective, and she looks like herself but improved. Also, Thorgy is intensely annoying but I'm too busy having a hate-on for Milk to really notice. Go AWAY, Milk. Also I loved Trixie's song, and Bebe is just intimidatingly perfect, like a drag queen grown in a vat by a more advanced civilization. It's gonna be tough for anyone to get past her.

Morgan sounded so angry in her testimonials I was sure she was gone as soon as Ru put her in the bottom two. Is that just how she is? I don't remember her having such a chip on her shoulder in season 2. I hope she's happier when the eliminated queens are brought back. Also, spite house posted:Go AWAY, Milk.

Finally saw it. Shangela was much improved. Bebe was beautiful but eh. Aja was okay - I liked the multiple reveals but they were too close together. Kennedy's moves were pretty great. Thorgy bored the poo poo out of me. Bendela's act cracked me the hell up. ChiChi was painful, and so was Morgan's song. Trixie's song was okay but for gently caress's sake this is Drag Race, give me some more Dolly Parton glitz and some humor. I really liked the idea of Milk's thing, but it could have been executed a bit better. Aja did fine in the lip synch but Ben fuckin' killed it.

Trixie was booted, but then they brought all the booted queens back for a challenge, and the winner would come back into the competition. Trixie won and came back, and was booted again 2 episodes later. The problem with season 7 was that it was terrible. Easily the worst season. There was a gaggle of mean queens who were just nasty bitches. You saw some of it in All Stars 2 with Ginger who was the leader of the mean queens. She didn't realize how she came off, and she had no confidence in All Stars 2. There was also an over use of acting challenges, and it was not a cast that was talented in acting. Ru lost her poo poo on the contestants in one episode because everyone was just SO terrible. And at the time, the final 3 was very underwhelming. Nobody really wanted any of the queens to win the crown, so when Violet was eventually crowned, everyone was all, MEH. In the end, season 7 produced some amazing queens, but something went wrong somewhere in how it was all put together.

That loving terrible Miss Fame single is haunting my discover weekly, so I'm still holding that against her specifically. And by extension season 7 as a whole. It's come up like three separate weeks. The only good thing to come out of S7 was Trixie and Katya. Also, this has probably been addressed (possibly by me) but the Alexis verse in C.L.A.T. is godawful. It sucks, because everyone else's verse is so strong and it kinda fucks with the flow.

Oh yeah Bendela has been doing that bit fiveever but if it works it works. My partner who is a relative newbie to Drag Race came over and watched the episode with me last night, and I forgot in my weird obsession with spoilers and queens and what not that All Stars is goddamn confusing to newbies. "No, that's Alaska. No, the top two - there's a top two now - ok, so... no that's a joke about Porkchop from season one."
