Isn't 'the 1%' being filled with idiot silicon valley venture capitalists the only thing actually keeping bitcoin related businesses going? Well them and Russian and Chinese money launderers.

Agreed. When it comes to comedies, a beeped swear can be a joke in and of itself. The Middleman uses bleeped swears (complete with censor bars!) to great effect, and the Good Place has a pretty forking funny variation on bleeped swearing. It’s actually weird hearing South Park characters actually say “gently caress” in the video games and uncensored episodes.

Holy moly, someone else who remembers The Middleman! I wish that show had gotten a couple more seasons. It was fun and honestly probably would've been better suited for this decade than the last.

I also still hear "Wendy Watson" in Noser's cadence whenever I see Natalie Morales pop up in something.

The Middleman would be WAAAAY more successful these days if they were to bring it back, even if it was on ABC Family Freeform again. Unfortunately, Matt Keeslar has retired from acting entirely so even in the highly unlikely case that it did make a return it wouldn’t be the same :(.

Some people are in on it but some are just showing up because their agent pushed to get them on any "talk show" they could and didn't do their research.

Rule of thumb for Eric Andre Show, is it a comedian? Then they knew it was going to be a joke show. Is it a reality show star? They had no clue.

The other major thing about Eric Andre is that even if someone knew that it was going to be a joke show Eric Andre still went out of his way to mess with them. For example Howie Mandel was on because he was a fan but they did a bunch of stuff specifically because they knew it would mess with him, like putting a dead squid under the chair.

Doesn't Howie have actual phobias and psychological hangups about stuff like that? Seems like it'd cross a line to me, but I guess it depends on how he took it.

He knew beforehand that they did things specifically to make their guests uncomfortable so those kind of shenanigans had to be expected. You also have things like the lead singer of 311 being waterboarded or Jack Black being electrocuted multiple times.

I'm loving doing it, Spectrum is trying to convince to pay 200+ for my fast internet and cable, gently caress these people. And my apt doesn't connect to any other cable company so they really don't give a poo poo.

Cutting the cord next month, just sticking with the 64 dollar basic internet b/c I literally have no other options AFAIK (Fios MIGHT be coming here in 6-12 mths according to them).

What do people do other than have Netflix/hulu/amazon etc, to get basic cable options. I have a hazy memory of some sort of digital antenna thing you can buy to get the basic channels? Idk.

It's just called an antenna, if you're close to a city, you should be able to get most of it on any old antenna. Check Antennaweb.org and TVfool.com to figure out what you should be able to get. If you live farther out, you'll probably want to look into an attic or outdoor antenna (you'll probably want to do this anyway unless you're renting).

If you're still using an old TV with a tube, or one of those transitional flat screens that didn't have a tuner (rare), you will need to buy a digital converter box, they're $30-$50.

We have Direct TV Now. I think it's $60 bucks a month but we got locked in at $30 since we signed up during the trial period. It was kind of dodgy in the beginning but now it's rock solid.

Yeah, there are a lot of OTT cable providers if you want linear cable tv over internet. If you don't need to watch things live, you can always buy individual show seasons for stuff you don't get with Hulu or Netflix. If you cut out $30 from a cable bill, you could buy 12-15 seasons of shows a year in much higher quality, commercial free, and yours to keep.
