It's the greatest concert I've seen live this year since Low Cut Connie. Michael is the greatest drummer I've ever witnessed in my entire life. Allen is such a great vocalist. Charlene held my hand during her chorus to Bones. I can never wash my hand again and I'm hoarse from singing along. I don't even care if Rebekah moved on, her replacement is fantastical. I'm dead.

No seriously this was worth every moment. This decade has such god drat good music and so many amazing people performing, and yet San Fermin has spoiled me even further. I just can't even word it. Holy poo poo they're all amazing and Ellis is such a goober of a good guy through it all. Edit: Picture Diet Cig's Alex level energy, and tone it down from 11 to 10, and multiply it over 8 people. I didn't know if their next single was going to top Boys & Blondes, but I'm totally in on their second album. They better hit the US on this tour. angrygodofjebus posted:Grimes said she's releasing an album this year in "realistically fall" so that rules. I'm really hoping she tours a bit harder on the next album. Her run in the US felt small and I'm always hesitant to travel to one of her shows as she cancels a lot from being sick. Maybe fits here. I tried to see Too Many Zooz last night and they sold out to a small venue. It's super rare for small venues to sell out here in Michigan and I was pretty bummed. Edit> Definitely pop thread related, but I saw MØ this week and was in loving heaven. I love Indie music, but I am still equally ravenous for pop music. Oh, and also I'm trying to find a really neato house track I heard in a local coffee shop. It featured heavy saxophone with occasional vocals overlaid of 60s inspirational-type quotes (think JFK, MLK stuff). It was a very happy, upbeat track, kind of reminiscent of Fear of Tigers (if anyone knows his stuff). Any ideas? (crossposted from the identification megathread....might be more expertise here)

I love CHVRCHES but their new song is total trash. Sounds like sub-par Hilary Duff. Found out that the singer of The Twilight Sad (great band) has a new project called Out Lines and they're going to be opening for Mogwai on some dates. They're pretty decent.

It's convenient that we're currently talking about indie/synthpop because the MGMT album that just leaked is incredible and will probably end up being the best pop album of the year. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who was turned off by their past couple albums, it's super immediate and catchy without feeling watered down at all.

Captain Hotbutt posted:Found out that the singer of The Twilight Sad (great band) has a new project called Out Lines and they're going to be opening for Mogwai on some dates. They're pretty decent. The Twilight Sad are so good, especially their last two albums. They sound like defeat, and all its accompanying pathos, anguish, and confusion. Driving beats and good melodies and instrumentation. Also notable for their singer's intense Scottish accent — I didn't know he was singing in English until halfway through the first track I heard by them ("Another Bed").

Definitely will try this new project.

It's not as thematically interconnected as What Now is, but it's got some absolutely amazing tracks on it. IDK what it is about her voice, but Amelia Meath just does to me what I assume those ASMR videos do to people who are susceptible to them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkC_xnerk_w https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUgsqr3c4Uw
