Not Michigan. You can buy everything there. But for boozy purchases, nothing equals Wisconsin.

I have bad news and more bad news.

The bad news is I also live in Ohio. The other bad news is I just got home from Costco and they didn't have any of the Kirkland steak strips. Well, there's a chance they had them at the entrance or something, but they were nowhere to be found in the snack aisles.

Same here in NH. But our state liquor stores are so cheap people come from as far as New Jersey to stock up and have it still be worth it. Even bar owners come! (Which is so illegal)

In New York liquor had to be sold in a store that only sells liquor/wine. So it's in a separate store attached to the side. It's got great prices but not a ton of variety or high end stuff.

She also loves that you can now buy coffins at Costco.

"It brings the conversation around death into the mainstream," she said.

"It's like you can get bulk toilet paper, soft drink, cleaning products - oh, and a coffin. It makes death just another part of life, which it is."

Costco Canberra warehouse manager Sai Muluk said the coffins at Costco had attracted a lot of attention since being stocked in June of last year.

Seventeen Canberrans have purchased coffins since they became available at Costco, with "The Richmond" - a faux mahogany coffin with silver handles which retails for $679.99 - proving the most popular choice in the ACT.

"We get phone calls every other day from people wanting to know if we really sell coffins," Mr Muluk said.

Yeah. New York here, and my costco is the same deal. There's an attached store that's completely independent from costco. The prices are better than normal but they're still not what you'd expect. Plus you can't get the giant jug of kirkland vodka.

New York liquor laws are weird, but I can't complain because they could be significantly worse.

If anyone's Costco stocks the 3 pack of Craigellachie 13, Aberfeldy 12, and Dewar 12, they reduced it in price and put a huge $30 coupon on it.

It's now $69.99 for the 3 bottles, and they come in a humidor if you care. But it's about half price for the set overall. A total bargain.

My company provides one free year of admission to our house to worship. The more I go, the more I find that the 'other' places just can't compare. I'll go to the store to pick up something and get disgusted at the prices, thinking 'If this were Costco, for a dollar more I'd be getting TWO of these in larger sizes'.

Also, those Ajinomoto frozen food things are amazing. I get the Yakisoba and the Yakitori Chicken with fried rice-- they taste delicious and fresh (even though they are frozen). I am very thankful to Costco for introducing them into my life. PBUC

Came home and roasted up a batch of Normandy blend for lunch & later but I ended up eating it all. PBUC.

I ended up going today as well--- was a madhouse. Then I realized that tomorrow IS the Superbowl, so everyone was trying to get their communion in early in preparation.

I managed to get in and out in under an hour with about $105 worth of goodness. I would consider it a very successful visit. PBUC.

Are the prices on name brand liquor lower up there? I have heard at regular liquor stores the taxes eat up any savings, but I have been curious about Costco. It's over half an hour drive for me to go up there so I haven't bothered yet. I have mostly been wondering about the big bottle of Tito's vodka which is $44.95 in Oregon, but if the prices were good I would probably just load up on whisky and rum too. My friend who moved down to California always talks about how much more expensive booze is here in Oregon than it is in his new home.

I'm sorry friend, I actually looked into doing this for you and it appears to be 100% illegal to do so unless you have a license. I'm not even sure it would end up being a great deal, because the humidor is wood and adds a fair bit of weight.

I actually talked to the alcohol specialist at our Costco about this when I bought it. They reduced the price on the set nationally, it's not a one-off for our store (central CA). Apparently it was due to low demand. I guess people don't know good booze. Best of luck to you, as it does seem to be a pretty wide distribution.

Not behind the glass, they're in with the other good scotch/bourbon bottles but they are on the bottom of the shelving, so at least at our costco they're easy to miss.

There's usually an alcohol specialist who kind of hovers around the alcohol section. I would ask them, they would know for sure whether or not that store carries it.
