I appreciated that in Nioh there were some fights that were like, this is a duel, we're just gonna start you at the fight and it will take ten seconds to restart if you die. It took me 230 tries and 5 hours to beat Tachibana Muneshige, I know it was optional but if I had to run back to fight him each time I probably would have given up on the game completely

Vicar Amelia was the hardest boss I ever beat My theory is that every Bloodborne boss is either a large man or a large dog creature or both! and that by beating the Cleric Beast and Father Gascoigne, you've proved you can beat Bloodborne if you just keep trying

Night in the Woods is really cool, partially because Mae has the same psychological problems I do and even described them in the same way I have in the past as having something "break" in her head and not being able to look at anything the same way again because everything is just "shapes" which is really spooky.

about how long is Night In The Woods, give or take? Considering grabbing it this afternoon.... haven't seen vids but it sounds like something I'd like if I enjoyed Life Is Strange and Oxenfree -- sound about right?

I don't have a CD drive on my computer either so I'm also getting a usb stick to install windows 7. I'm super nervous because this is the first time I have to do this kind of thing on my own, both installing windows on a new hard drive and installing a computer part at all so I'm heckin nervous about screwing something up This is probably too late already but heres a handy tip for next time: you dont need to reinstall windows, theres an utility that will migrate all your stuff from your hard drive to the ssd

I put an hour or so into Dragon's Dogma. It seems... kind of generic? When is the point when I should be getting into the game? I killed the hydra and then fought some bandits and died and the last autosave was like 20 minutes in the past so I shut it down and started FF12

I spent about twenty-five hours on it according to steam, but that includes a decent chunk of time put into a totally optional minigame and just jumping all over town making sure to talk to absolutely everybody every day. And yes you'd probably dig it

I would also recommend sticking with it until you reach the capital city. That's when the game blooms into something really open-ended, tons of sidequests and character skills to play with.

Brands becoming synonymous with the service but not the actual product is something that companies legit worry about. From what I understand the peak version of this was Xerox, whose name came synonymous with copy machines but didn't have that sort of actual market dominance and eventually went under, their name outlasting the actual company. It's not a problem that actually comes up very often but that's probably what Nintendo were worried about.

Even going out of your way for the extra content (which you should) it's still a pretty short game overall. Definitely worth playing though. I'd recommend playing the two supplemental games included with the Weird Autumn edition (Longest Night and Lost Constellation) as well. Speaking of which, I've never tried playing Oxenfree. How is it?

It won me over in the end but I was still sort of lukewarm on it. I feel I should have liked it more but so much of the game is focused on the relationship between your main character and her step brother and I just didn't actually like the step brother all that much, which brought the whole thing down a ton for me. It's still a neat little game that does some cool stuff.

Meanwhile Google is happy you use it as a verb because no one in history or the future will ever say "What was the name of that song? Let me bing it."

Google are happy with that because people actually use their product at about the same rate that they name drop them. Google hasn't becoming synonymous with using a search engine, it's become synonymous with using google, and they're fine with that.

I found the cast to be kind of weak, especially Alex's stoner friend who has the worst "I am obviously a voice actor pretending to be high" affect in recent memory. I got it for $5 and I'd say it's about worth that much for the 4-hours of story.

There's a new game out in early access called Freeman Guerilla Warfare and it owns bones. A modern age mount and blade with bullet physics and ammo measured by magazines instead of individual bullets, the correct way to measure ammo. Still pretty rough and has no vehicles, day/night cycle or multiplayer, but dang it's p fun even at this stage. I don't normally do this, but I really like the game and don't hear a lot of discussion about it. I'm really hoping for mods at some point. A jagged alliance mod would be great for this game.
