Reminder that the new season of Channel Zero starts tonight. This one has Rutger Hauer as the bad guy.

Between Discovery, American Gods and now Amazing Stories (considering he was fired from the first, "walked" from the second over budget disagreements and God only knows what's happened with Amazing Stories), I have to imagine Bryan Fuller's reputation is rather toxic at this point.

TVLine says Hart Hanson--the Bones guy--also quit.

Bryan Fuller is really talented but he sounds like a pain in the rear end to work with. It's kind of a miracle Hannibal lasted as long as it did.

I will not shut up about the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. I talk about them all the time and work them into every conversation I have. I built a shrine in my room for the yellow one who died because sadly no one noticed because she died around 9/11. Wanna see it?

Fuller reportedly wanted a darker, Black Mirror-style take, while Apple was aiming for more family-friendly fare

I wish he didn't make cool-looking or cool-sounding stuff because this poo poo always hurts when it never airs or airs only temporarily :negative:

Remember, Amazon was ready and willing to fund a fourth season of Hannibal, but wanted production to start relatively quickly. Fuller demurred, saying that he refused to set a filming date until the entire season was planned and written. (And he was already knee-deep in American Gods and Amazing Stories.)

Amazon took a hard pass when he set those demands.

In this case I have to agree with Fuller. Hannibal is not something I’d want rushed to production.

Both seasons/stories/whatever so far have had really good starts, incredibly creepy atmospheres and tones, and kind of iffy stories that start to fall apart a little but never do so completely before the six episode "season" is finished.

It's worked well enough that as a horror fan I'm super excited for this 3rd iteration but I'm also leaning towards saving them and binging like I did with No End House.

Given how Amazing Stories was (from my memories when it originally aired), Fuller was in the wrong. Also I love some dark rear end poo poo, but not everything has to be dark. I don’t want Amazing Stories to look like Black Mirror.

I think a lot of the actors, while willing to continue the show, preferred to take a break to work on other projects.

I heard it was primarily because he was spread too thin with American Gods and Star Trek.

Don't care, would give other people's right arms for another iteration of The Soup. How am I supposed to know what's going on with Gayusa or what out-of-context things they're saying on that gold drilling show? I know it's lazy cheap humor but it was utterly perfect for turning my brain off on Friday nights.

What's the story for what happened to The Soup? From what I read it wasn't that Joel wanted to walk away from it and it seemed to have good support from the network, one day it was just...gone.

It's literally the Soup 2.0. If you didn't like the Soup, I get where you're coming from, but I miss my weekly dose of Joel mocking stupid poo poo for a half hour with terrible production values, teleprompter stumbling, and dumb memes.

Those first three eps of AP Bio hit the spot for me, I hope the kids get developed over time (it's understandable everyone is a bit 2D as there's a loot of regular cast plus guest cast so far) but the main combo of Glenn/Patton is working nicely. Really like the style of it all too, interesting color timing and a touch overexposed suits it and makes it stand out. Has the 'weird eyes' thing that seems to be a trend though (a la Baywatch movie from last year). Looking forward to seeing the rest, and how it develops beyond a 'one act of revenge a week with a bit of arc' it's doing right now.

This Is Us isn’t bad but it’s not great. Scratches my family drama itch and it does that slightly heightened witty dialogue well. I tend to let a few pile up and binge them over an evening. Doing that now actually with all the eps that have aired so far this year. Kevin’s therapist is goddamned unprofessional wow

It's a strange show in that the side characters are so much more interesting than the leads. The recent episode with them getting drunk together while the Pearsons were in therapy was great.
