Yeah that was in the first episode I watched today and I liked that storyline a lot. Even Toby wasn’t too bad in it.

Now I’m on the ep with Randall’s dad’s love poem which is totally going to turn out to be about the cat right?

Honestly, Black Mirror is Black Mirror, and nobody else needs to be in that same playground right now. I could use a less dark episodic anthology show.

Dimension 404 fits that. I'm not saying every episode was fantastic, but it scratched the itch.

I just started watching S1 of Expanse. Definitely feels like a SyFy drama show right now. I don't necessarily mean that in a bad way, either.

I'm 2 episodes in so far and have it ranked at "good, not great" status. Is there a specific point where it makes the leap to ZOMG MUST SEE TV?

It's honestly just a steady upward climb with no dips in quality. You just eventually realize "drat, this is a well fleshed out world and I care about the stakes."

Episodes 3 and 4 do some really neat things and the rest of the season builds over time. The season ends at a great spot.

Literally the only thing I knew about Versace, murder or otherwise, was the Maya Rudolph character on SNL so it's been a heck of a ride. Like, even with Ryan Murphy's history of being :jerkbag: about gay stuff at least here it actually works since the entire show is about a narcissistic gay escort murdering his high-class customers.

Yeah, Amazing Stories is the series that gave us WW2 bomber pilots surviving a botched landing by their cartoonist crew member literally drawing landing gear onto their plane, a TV addict turning his family into June Cleaver and Gary Coleman, Dom Deluise successfully macking on the embodiment of love, a man in a mummy costume showing up at his wife's delivery of their child, and Weird Al as an alien beauty pageant judge is the absolute last thing that needs a dark and gritty reboot.

Sounds like Michael Schur or Brian Taylor would be better fits for it. You need someone with a gonzo sense of humor for that kind of thing to carry over.

There was also one where Mark Hamill played a mentally ill teen that thought a leprechaun told him his junk toys will make him a millionaire. So he gives up all his connection to his friends and family and lives the next 70 years just holding onto his toys, where they eventually become valuable at auctions.

Remote Control Man is just an amazing time capsule in that it's about a mid-80s TV addict who gets the ability to make TV real and is full of cameos from everything from the A-Team to The Incredible Hulk to Knight Rider.

What's the story for what happened to The Soup? From what I read it wasn't that Joel wanted to walk away from it and it seemed to have good support from the network, one day it was just...gone.

It was almost certainly the network, they were systematically killing off every remotely interesting show before they finally came for the soup. It really did feel like they stopped trying in like the last year or so though and everyone on the show seemed so bored of going through the motions, to the point where when it ended I was just kinda like "yeah, it's time."
