Here's a fun fact that I learned about RE7 the other day. The group mentioned in the DLC, Not A Hero, is The Connections. They're specified as a group that worked with Wesker's HCF force.

That's right.

RE7 is a sequel to Code Veronica.

If the Resident Evil series was the Fast and Furious movies, RE7 would be Tokyo Drift entry. It has a new cast, focuses on the series' roots (horror/street racing and stealing DVD players). and features a cameo by a fan favorite character at the very end.

I didn't play the RE7 DLC but what I thought was ridiculous is that Chris appropriates the Umbrella name and turns them into a anti-terrorist force under the name of the company that could've eradicated all humanity.

The DLC rather hilariously explains that the remains of Umbrella itself became a PMC to try and improve their image (LMAO), and in RE7 they're working with the BSAA and therefore Chris. Chris himself isn't that happy about it.

I HATE THAT HEDGEHOG, BROTHER!
Someone retweeted some long thread by Mark Kern where it's basically just him whining about how he was bullied for being a nerd and how it's basically bigotry similar to racism or whatever. And it's all pretty typical dumb Mark Kern nonsense. But I was curious and scanned through his timeline.

That dude is incapable of letting go that he was picked on in high school, and has turned it into a current never ending crusade of his. And like sure maybe when he was in high school it was a bigger deal to be a nerd I guess, but is it really that common nowadays? I mean poo poo, when I was in high school (I'm 31 now) there was literally never a single time I can remember where I got picked on or made fun or whatever because I played video games and poo poo. I mean the nerds and the "cool kids" didn't really cross over all that much, but that's mostly because the cool kids were into football and school events and the nerds weren't. It was never like, a malicious or hostile thing. The interests just didn't usually allow for the two groups to really get together. I interacted with the "cool kids" every day in classes and I never got any poo poo for nerd stuff from them. And I never made an effort to like be "cooler" or whatever, I was pretty open about the dumb nerd poo poo I liked.

Anyway I don't think I've seen a major internet uh... guy, who just CAN'T get over high school more than Mark Kern

I'm a few years younger than you and that kind of nerd mocking was definitely a thing in my high school. Wrestling was also something that was heavily derided, which has made this forum's infatuation with it absolutely bizarre to me.

"Ticker, you'll be a lot happier once you stop caring about the opinions of a culture that is beneath you."

I learned my worth, learned the places and people that matter.

Opened my eyes.
I was a lonely know-it-all weirdo and got ostracized but in the last couple of years of middle school, I decided I was tired of that and began mingling with my classmates. Most of them were "Whoa, you actually talk?" but we had some good times.

Now High School, that one I don't think I studied a single day. And I'm still paying for that :D

People can't just forget about stuff that had a huge impact on their development without proper treatment though.

Like, I'll be honest here; I was bullied like hell in middle and high school. I dunno what exactly made people start picking on me but I was the punching bag for the school. I lost all my friends and spent every day at school alone. It was utterly miserable and I hated every day of my life spent there. If people were making fun of me for my social interests or hobbies it wouldn't of been bad. But I wasn't bullied because I liked nerdy things, people hated me just because it was what everyone did. They made me feel worthless as a person, that I wasn't good for anything but making other people look better by comparison. The ugly dumb kid that nobody liked.

Now I don't hold a grudge against any of the people that bullied me since I don't know what was going on in their lives, but I can't deny it had a terrible impact on my social development. I'm still really paranoid in social situations because I always expect everyone to mock me and any compliments I receive to be sarcasm. I've actively worked to overcome these issues but its not something you can just forget and move on from. I'd love to do that, but you can't just magically change how something made you feel.

It makes sense that if a person was bullied a lot for their entire developmental period of life, that they would grow up and have that bullying implanted into them as part of their identity.

Went through exactly the same poo poo, even some of my teachers used me for cheap laughs. Nothing I ever did to try to fit in even came close to making me accepted. The difference is the second I graduated high school I realized I was never going to see 99% of those people ever again and no one was going to bully me ever again, and I started getting over it from that point onward.

Okay but do you not understand that for some people just telling yourself that people aren't mocking you doesn't actually keep your brain from thinking that? When you deal with something for the majority of your formative years you come to expect it. You can try and use logic to convince yourself that those impulses are wrong but that isn't something most people can force.

Its good that it was easy for you but most people need therapy to overcome this kind of stuff.

I don't own things. Anything I have belongs to KCB because it is her money, and anything I do have is, well, not much.

I have some card games that are mine that might fetch 30 dollars at most, but I like those and want to keep them.

My steam account as well, that's probably worth a couple money, but I'd rather not get rid of my steam account since KCB shares stuff from it.
