Also true.

It was interesting listening to the oilers radio. They're as confused as to everyone else as to why the home PK sucks, among other things.

I think teams just have too much fun making them look bad at home, so they put some extra effort into it? I mean, who doesn't want to laugh at the Oilers?

No, there's risk involved in those and making a questionable trade might subject a GM to criticism and we can't have that.

Is there a player more befitting the Jim Benning era Canucks than Nic Dowd? Traded for a player people would've actually paid to see, he wound up playing 17 minutes a night for a stretch despite having 1 point in 23 games because of his apparent good attitude. He is a UFA at the end of the year and almost certainly will not be re-signed. What a guy.

Playoff races looking fun. The Western Conference has 4 teams that could make that last WC spot and the Pacific is still a toss up and the East is Tampa, Boston, and Toronto......plus anyone in the Metro. SOMEONE MAKE A FREAKING MOVE ALREADY!!!!!!!! Pens have stabilized somewhat, unfortunately they've had Reaves in the line up the last few games because of injuries I guess. If they could pick another depth piece or two to displace him from the lineup that would be great.

COACH TOTORO SAY REFEREE CAN BANISH WHISTLE TO LAND OF WIND AND GHOSTS!

Speaking of guys we're surprised that are still in the NHL, who keeps giving Korbinian Holzer contracts? Dude could barely crack the Leafs' roster when it prominently featured such fine defensemen as Roman Polak, Stephane Robidas and TJ Brennan.

Given that both Sutter and Horvat was out, he was a face-off stop gap measure that didn't cost an awful lot. Subbans only real value was his name, so getting Dowd was probably about right.

And jesus christ athletes are insane :psyduck:

quote:

Kreider explained that his second rib was closer than normal to his first rib and thus pushed it up, causing his collarbone to protrude.

“I’ve had a big bump on one side of my chest since I was very young,” he said. “It ached occasionally, but it had never really been a problem.

“Then in the fall, I started to have some trouble breathing. I’d be out of breath sometimes when I never had before. I’d come to the bench tired after shifts, even some shorter ones, I was having a harder time recovering, and I really couldn’t figure it out. For two or three weeks there, I was coughing up blood at times, but I never said anything. I mean, you never really feel that good during the season, so I thought that it was just part of it.

“And then when we came back after the [Christmas] break, I woke up the morning of the Washington game and my right arm was numb,” said the 26-year-old workout machine. “I figured maybe I’d slept on it the wrong way. But then after the first period my arm had swollen to basically twice its size and the docs took a look at it and could see that the circulation had been completely cut off and got me to the hospital immediately.”

If the doctors say he can go off blood thinners and is OK to return to the ice then I'm sure it's OK. I don't think they'd let him back out there if he wasn't medically cleared

5. Nashville definitely is all in on Rick Nash. The question is if they can outbid a large field. They already dealt Sam Girard, Vladislav Kamenev and their second-round pick in the Kyle Turris deal, so how deep are they willing to go? A first-rounder that might be 27th or lower won’t do it. They’ve still got excellent prospects (Dante Fabbro and Eeli Tolvanen atop the list) and no doubt the Rangers will try to leverage from those.

I’m quite pumped for this. I know they’re not quite the same level but the Swiss women have looked good as well granted against weaker opponents.
