AFAIK if a team scores after a penalty but before the whistle to call the minor penalty, the penalty is .... kinda negated?

Again, it was a goal scored on the powerplay, so it should have ended the penalty that was already being killed and resulted in another full two-minute powerplay for the high-sticking.

Caps game was a real stinker. Holtby not looking sharp. Orpik doing Orpik things. And no answer offensively at all.

For anyone not watching the Flyers Rangers game, neither team can play defense, and the Flyers are down to their AHL goalie because Neuvirth went out for the game injured.

I feel like Hextall doesn’t get nearly enough crap for the Schenn trade, dude has 55 points in 60 games this year. Lehtera has 3 in 40. Like, in what world was that deal defensible.

Having watched Schenn both years, it’s a bad, bad trade, but Schenn looks like a totally different player this year. No way he has 55 points in Philly this year.

Still a bad trade. Should have just been draft picks and call it a day.

Schenn was traded for two 1sts. Lehtera was thrown in for cap reasons

Though if St. Louis wanted to throw in Lehtera, I would have walked away

Basically everyone had figured Schenn had plateaued as a mid-50s scoring shutdown guy. Two 1sts is pretty good for that.

Nobody could have predicted St. Louis has the good HGH.

Edmonton losing is bad, they’re incredibly close to dead last aka best chance at the first pick (and a guaranteed top 4, in a draft where the top 4/5 picks look to range from almost generational to just insanely god drat good)

Please win more games oilers (also pls lose more games canucks thanks )

I ended up going out last night so I missed the game but what the hell Washington? You gave up 7 goals to Chicago?

At least Vancouver poo poo all over the Bruins and Detroit won so the standings didnt really change, but still.

Boston's in a different division and has zero chance of falling to the wild card, their results don't really affect Washington.

I guess I’m a little biased because the 27th pick last year didn’t seem very exciting by that point in the draft, but I was more thinking about how it looks like mismanagement to move a guy at a good age with decent contract status and then see him explode.

For what it's worth, Schenn was the exact opposite of a shutdown guy in Philly. Like, last year he was essentially a power play specialist who could not drive play at even strength at all. At the time getting two 1sts for that was good, and it got even better when one became Morgan Frost, who's absolutely dominated junior hockey this year.
