I think it's supposed to be one of those day/night cycle things? I just find it funny the artist clearly took one look at the internal clockwork and went "nope, can't do it" and did that instead.

e: God, even the hands of the clock are so much shittier.

There's a whole lot of "eh, gently caress it" in that tattoo, that's for sure.

Even the text is poo poo, like it was free-handed and the tattooist just used the banner as his baseline, instead of centring it vertically

I absolutely cannot wait to see the finished product!

I will be back a week on Tuesday with the final pictures!

*edit* I don’t understand where all the purple has disappeared to. There is no way there was that much excess ink just from a little bit of purple linework.

I've never gotten or seen anyone getting a ~watercolor~ one, so I was wondering maybe that's how they do it. I really am interested to see how this style ages. That and the very fine line/tiny dot/delicate kinds. I think that sort of work is pretty, but will underboob chandeliers hold up? Only time will tell.

Here's a good(?) mix of both.

I mean, to me it looks like a big ol' bruise with some ink dribbled on it already.

This got me looking at my studio floor. The laminated wood looked great when I first bought it 5 years ago, but man is it looking aged now, nothing like this though. Still, if it ever started to look as frayed and scratched as that photo i'd be investing in tiles out of sheer embarrassment and worry that the council would shut me down as a germ factory isn't quite what they want to license for special treatments.

There's no one I've ever met, no matter how successful they are, who hasn't said they had their failures along the way.

If I had to guess, they had 90% of it done, but they/the tattooer couldn't remember if there is 1 a or 2 in female, so they finished the rest of it and left enough room for two letters if needed. Which was done by a separate artist.
