But I think the reason the talk about it is coming out now is that Conor and GSP are going to fight for the inaugural belt. It's the biggest money fight around right now and they get to crown their first ever triple-weight champion. Then GSP big-brothers Conor all over the cage. Of course I could be completely wrong but it's the dumbest thing they could do from a pure competition standpoint, so you know it's going to happen.

What if the reason Dana won't say Conor is stripped is because they're going to announce a 165lb division with a fight between Conor and Nate to determine the champion? Conor can theoretically beat nate this spring then fight the winner of Khabib and Tony in the fall.
