son of a bitch, figured out what my influence problem is the Materialist faction usually gets a boost from the AI Allowed law existing once you are synthetically ascended, that law disappears and with it, any way to get your guys above 60% happiness without starting to hand out tech to all and sundry of your rivals piss

Wiz, there's nothing wrong with it as is, but I think the "Charismatic" trait should also unlock a set of very hilarious insults to use in the Diplomacy screen because it's an idea I just had and now I'm typing it out.

My beautiful creations. The Remnant (Species: Fallen Humans)  Intended to be a post-apocalyptic race of humans who are pissed that they were stranded on a dying world. The Gaian Confederacy (Species: Humans)  Intended to be played only in games where The Remnant is used. These are the people who fled and while you can't force it they should always end up arch-rivals with the Remnant. March of the Butterflies (Species: KILLER BUTTERFLIES)  VERY CUTE. VERY SCARY. Yeah, Alexis Kennedy wrote Horizon Signal. As for Sunless Sea the narrative is good, but the game kinda has a bad difficulty curve. It's real tough, then you hit mid-game and it's pretty straight forward but your victory condition is probably a ways away. All the actual text stuff is top notch though. edit: I haven't played since the Zubmariner expansion was released though so I might be wrong about it now. Also if you do play definitely gently caress around with the Chapel of Lights. Mr. Eaten is still the best thing to come out of that whole universe. Cracked my first world, which was occupied by flower people. It was their capital world too. Quite ironic considering I'm tree people. But the galactic response was  Shouldn't everyone be either terrified or allying against me at this point? A -100 malus to opinion didn't do too much because everyone seems to like me a whole lot.

Going tall I guess for now. mining drones are not as threatening as they appear. their lasers have -75% to shields and they have no other weapons; as such, a small fleet of all-shields corvettes is essentially immortal against the drones. you should never feel particularly blocked by them!

I mean I get that zailing the zea is supposed to be hard and drive you insane, but it makes me sad to think someone might not get far enough out to meet the soul-stealing ape society or whatever. and axeil, I think we're on a similar wavelength - I made my custom devouring swarm empire using the peacock portrait and named their empire "Oh poo poo! Peacocks!!" Most of the cute species make me want to give them the horrific civics... except the penguins, I always just make them giant badasses. I'm not sure why but the idea of a hardbitten space penguin just cracks me up.

sunless sea is Exceedingly Good writing, coupled to an Exceedingly Mediocre sailing game that said, that you can make a ludicrous amount of money running mushroom-wine to the Elder Continent's sole port in Adam's Way for Darkdrop Coffee, head northeast to Irem-That-Will-Be to trade for parabola-linen, and then run that back to Fallen London for a frankly ludicrous profit that there is 1. a triangle trade 2. between London, the kingdom of Prester John, and a city on the border of dreams and reality owns so very hard. if you're feeling greedy you can skip fueling up at London and spend a little bit longer sailing south, so you can fuel up in Hell. only place in the Neath fuel's cheaper! but you're kinda rolling the dice every time you set in at the Iron Republic; it turns out when the devils overthrew their monarchs' tyranny, they instituted TRUE democracy. no laws, save those agreed upon by representatives, and the representatives keep waffling on which of the laws of physics are unacceptably tyrannical.

Oh, we're sharing races? I've been wanting to throw these in the thread for awhile just cause I'm proud of the flavor text. My cute little metalheads that I force in every game. Being a democracy they usually just end up shifting out of metalhead and then get broken up into a bunch of little successor states. Ultimately me taking an extended joke way too far. Empire Adjective: Gotterverdammtes  The empire that makes me sad that Determined Exterminators are forced to be a Rogue Defense System.  Sometimes you want to play Minecraft, and sometimes you steal the storyline from Battlefield 2142.
