why try to force Roman to be "the guy" rather than Rollins? it makes zero sense at this point.

Roman's true finisher is the 'other guys help me powerbomb someone', and the spear and punch are just for when there aren't other guys around.

Part of the issue is he keeps being sold as a power wrestler where his power moves are all meh at best. Roman should be sold more as a striker and probably should use the Rainmaker as his super finisher.

According to the Observer Keith Lee seems to be on the WWE radar.

That documentary was such good babyface material. How can you not root for a guy who woke up from surgery and immediately started talking about getting his title back?

Rollins was extremely cold and not very good for most of 2017. It wasn't really his fault, but he had a bad year.

Yeah, I don't like Roman because of his lovely character, and honestly I don't like his matches as much as I "should" because they're so boring and predictable. (I don't mean LOL ROMAN WINS, but just SUPERMAN PUNCH!!!) but the moves he actually does look impactful and he's improved a lot at selling and telling a story in the ring.

He's definitely better than the Miz, and if the Miz was booked like Roman Reigns it would be the most horrible thing to ever happen

Sorry which Mania match was a heatless snoozefest again?

Oh that's right Roman vs. Undertaker.

People were at least vaguely interested in Miz and Maryse vs. John and Nikki.

The Miz is so good at what he does he can get people to cheer Roman. It's unbelievable.

They decided that Stoic, dark, cool Roman Reigns was going to be a jokey cartoon character like Cena.

Which is a shite idea because Cena's been doing it for thirteen years and he still can't pull it off half the time.

I think what's really funny with the benefit of hindsight is that if they just put it off for a year and kept with Daniel Bryan until he had to retire then Roman Reigns would probably have been accepted as the top babyface by now.

Yeah Miz really got Roman over when he dropped the IC, hosed off to do a movie, and immediately won the belt back on his return

Even RIGHT after the betrayal when Dean cut the face rearrangement promo that created my Ambrose love, Roman was pretty good. He had short, punchy lines that felt authentic and not Cena b-sides.

Miz vs. Cena had a good build on TV and the proposal was nice but that match loving sucked and it was the point where WrestleMania 33 started falling apart.

Remember when Miz straight up said, in character, that he dropped the IC Title on purpose so it would be on the show while he was off filming a movie and then he immediately won it back and then won the rematch as well, suggesting that he wasn't lying? Good stuff. Got Roman super over.

The Miz got Damien Sandow over. He got that dreadful Alex guy over. He really helped put Daniel Bryan over initially too.

Echoing what other people said about Roman being average. He's the new HHH (worse than HHH of course) in that he's a 6 pushed as an 11 so looks like a 5

Even more so if they turned him heel during that stint.

Like, the "turn him heel" stuff is probably overstated but just take 8 months of the first two Roman megapush years and let the audience hate him like they wanted too. Lean into the smarmy poo poo talker stuff and it'll work back around to getting over organically, like they've done with so many other people over the years.

I don't doubt that he could be getting the reactions they want in the role he has now had they handled him out of the gate in almost any other way than what they did. Just amazing, really.

Damien Mizdow was originally supposed to be a one off joke. The Miz's gimmick was floundering at that point. Mizdow got so over that it became a full time thing and completely hijacked the Miz's gimmick. When Mizdow was off screen Miz was significantly less over than when he was on screen. So no, Sandow helped get Miz over as weird and backwards as it sounds today. The rest is equally nonsense.

Naaaaaah. As un-ready as Roman was in 2015, he was so much more un-ready in 2014 and that would've become abundantly clear.
