Friends and I are long time VT1 vets. We've pretty much reached the point where Veteran is too easy but Champion is too hard. Also our power level on our items is butting up against the 200 cap. Any advice?

Played with a 650ti all settings at lowest on 1080p and it played just fine on the beta maps.

Maybe try different team comps, add in more tanks and a specialist special killer, any character level 20+ should be okay on champion with that absurd temp health bonus.

Aside from that git gud (gear) I guess.

The big problem we're facing is that the way rats spread out and flank in VT2, we find ourselves 'chipped' to death in like four or five attacks each. I've always been pretty good at watching my six and blocking all the time but it just feels so much more frantic in VT2.

Maybe I just need more practice.

I hate that I have hit the gear cap for vet but have to eat another five more levels just to unlock poo poo to run Champion well.

i dislike how if you're unchained and you're running hot to try and make the most out of your living bomb/melee bonus and a rat pokes you in the rear end causing you to overheat and start to explode, if you use your bomb to clear your overcharge you still explode and get downed 2 seconds later

Try looking for areas where it's easy to hold during a horde and falling back or pushing up into them, places where they can't come at you from behind or only from one area, places like inside the mill or the house by the barn in against the grain where your backs are safe because they can't get inside.

Jesus Christ. Somehow Fatshark made the crashing worse. Now I get to crash every single mission within the first 5 minutes. How the heck do they make the crashes worse at every single stage of the betas then top off the launch by making the game impossible to play.

Tried the chaos sorcerer boss a couple times, and it's definitely rougher than the champion that was in the beta map. I'm not even sure when you're supposed to get in to attack them, and they barely take any damage.

Shoot him while he is up top. And have one person distract him while the rest beat on him in melee. When he starts shooting the waves.

Not that I've played a billion games or anything, but I feel like I've played enough to say that I've neither seen not heard of anyone crashing. Do you have your latest video drivers? Is your CPU or GPU covered in dust or cat hair? Is your PSU possibly on its way out?

No to all of that. Actually, have 2 of the same PC and both are in tip-top shape. Checked on the bug forums and I am not alone.

I feel bad for being mopey earlier because after dinking around with higher rank deeds today I think Foot Knight Kruber is a monster. He's very swole, his bash rules, and the charge is amazing for controlling hordes. It's obviously not as fun as obliterating bosses in two seconds, but it does feel really strong and the 25% reduction aura is very noticeable for deeds with the double damage mod.

There's nine, three from each act. They're unlocked sequentially, by completing the previous one. Consequently, most people haven't finished the first ones yet, and since the matchmaking is going to try to get everyone together, you're gonna find a lot of games on those first three maps.

foot knight does seem best right now. Mercenary just... kind of exists? Of the two merc is aggressive and knight is more defensive, but you get by being survivable so.

And he actually has a bunch of pretty solid weapons to choose from, unlike the dwarf. Bardin can be an unstoppable shield but Kruber can still slice up the place at least.

There are 13, four from each act, plus the last mission.

I played around with Merc, but even with his buffs active I didn't really notice a difference in the number of swings it took to kill things. His attack speed is nice, but it doesn't really matter how fast you attack when the entire horde is staggered or knocked down constantly. His ult is also on way too long of a cool down for what it does.

I think it's probably still better than huntsman, but I really can't see myself playing anything other than Foot Knight for the forseeable future.

So when you open a chest it generates appropriate items for the class your playing, up to a certain cap, and seems to base the items it generates on your highest level character.

Does it do this based on the actual level of the highest level character, or the hero power of the highest level character? In other words, is it worth it to go through small incremental changes in hero power to climb some kind of invisible ladder, or is it better to wait until you can a level to open boxes?

Tagichatn

The rarity is based on character level, the power level is based on the highest power of that slot.

The buff increases unit pen and swing speed. You'll see it most clearly with the executioner. I like his Merc class more for the knockdown/stagger with a health bonus that has saved bleeding out players more than once already. That said, I also really like Knight. The Huntsman neuter does have me considering his bow now though.

Merc is okay, the active and the talent tree are fine, but the base Paced Strikes is kinda poo poo. 10% attack speed in hordes is not exactly a defining characteristic

Hello 770 GTX brother.

I’ve been playing the beta with custom graphics settings to keep it at a decent frame rate and not look totally like butts. Turn off all of the following:
- Bloom
- SSAO
- Skin shading
- HDR
- Screen space reflections
- high quality fur
- basically everything in that section of the menu

lower the lighting quality to medium and set the max shadow casting lights as low as you feel comfortable with. It’s been running alright at high res with high texture settings. Not perfectly because obvs our computers are from 2005 but definitely playable

Trip report in case it helps anyone else: the tutorial ran completely fine, to my surprise. Never dipped below maybe 50 FPS.

Maybe it'll be worse in different (especially outdoor) scenes, but I don't have time to play longer and test right now.

EDIT: It was on the game's default Medium settings. I'll try some of the tweaks suggested above later!

Kruber or Bardin (the dwarf) are your best bets for pure smashing/hacking. Bardin gets hammers, Saltzpyre (the witch hunter) can get smashy with a flail.

Hard the weirdest bug on the forest level from the phase 3 beta, a second troll spawned not far after a first one, except it was stuck endlessly running against a tree and mzbundifund could not see it at all

we beat it down to the point where it regenerated, which it did without stopping running against the tree, and then its health just stopped going down anymore so we left it and went to the end. Except there was this random green junk in front of the dropdown blocking us from actually crossing and finishing the level, which we can only guess was due to the troll somehow. we had to quit
