Much better. My opinion do not tone down highlights.

Yeah keep the strong highlights. I'd move the green-blueish rock surface below his snout a bit, as there is currently a weird tangent there between the edge of the rock surface and the edge of his upper lip.

So I ain't posted anything in a while because honestly I ain't drawn anything since that Dafoe pic a week or two back. Some unexpected RL stuff kicked the poo poo out of my free time.

Picked up a pencil for the first time in like two weeks... so I'm rather glad with how this picture of Mo Salah turned out.

His left eye is a little wonky and higher than the other... but I guess I just keep that in mind for next time.

Next time though I ain't drawing a picture were the source material is a candid pic of a footballer on a floodlit training ground.

Dear lord the multiple light sources were to confusing for a quick sketch

It's good. Esp. How you captured the face shape, the forehead, and mouth. And the eyes looking right at the viewer.

Yup.

Here is the before and after.

Hurt to paint over that arm but at least the neck is better.

A little advice. Work from ONE photo ref if you can. A poor photobash is only going to make things that much harder. I remember a talk by a master painter in which he talked about hiring a model and setting up props and taking his own photos. Now I understand why. Trying to match lighting across six different poorly composited elements is kind of nuts.

This is really cool.

Something about this arm anatomy is really bugging me but I can't put my finger on it. Muscles too defined? Defined in the wrong places for the angle? I want to the shading to be perfect before I paint the arm band back on.

From that picture I think the bicep on the closest arm might be slightly too low on the upper arm/too close to the inner elbow, and a bit too defined in comparison to the further arm

And a real quick and dirty sketch:

Yes I do. You'd have to have perfectly clean lines and solid colors. The aesthetic of geometrical shapes and just one primary color with the geometrical black and white is striking. The long necks and simplicity of the ladies-all good. I am uneducated but still think I've got the eye to judge.

I got a lot done on a saucy corn dog pinup banner I'm making for a restaurant, from sketch on paper to here today. It's pretty big, 3 foot tall by 5 feet wide piece of canvas with text going to her right. It's hard to not just see mistakes, especially since this is my first time painting with acrylic, but also feel pretty proud of the lighting!

I'm no expert by any stretch, but I really like this one. The line weight on the neck, right arm, and left bicep look great, the earring is a nice addition and draws the eye up to the face, and there's a nice breezy look to her hair that works really well with the bright background
