We have thread residents here who used to drive these cars- throatwarbler and I think powershift. And y�all had so many VW issues and fuckups I wouldn�t wanna waste my money on it.

That said I have test driven a GTI recently and it�s a ton of fun. Definitely a good car (when it works).

I can get a pretty good deal on an AWD 3.8T G80 or any of the civics (Touring, SI, R). I am leaning in this direction understanding that reliability means I sacrifice fun and it hurts to think about it.

Heck you could even get an M5, just make sure whatever you get has already had the depreciation slapped off then it won't sting so bad when you pass your car onto the next guy. If you don't do that then hey, you have a car you like for a long time and the funds to maintain it.

Ive decided to wait for the G70 and arrange a test drive. I�ll compare that experience to the Civic Type R.
One of these two will be a winner. In the meantime I�ll set aside the money I�d spend on the car in a savings account and invest the rest so I don�t get too crazy.
