It's better to let off like three to five shots, then swim, then shoot, then swim. Keep yourself moving and make yourself as hard a target to hit as possible, you're a lot easier to hit when you're shooting. This is a really simple thing that I need to try. Maybe it'll force me to take more advantage of the lateral motion controls.

One obvious thing I've had to consciously keep in mind is to always keep an eye on how much health you have (how obscured your screen edges are) and be willing to back off and heal up. It's super easy to tunnel vision and not realize you're one hit from death, especially if the other team has light-colored ink that makes the edge overlay harder to see.

To add onto what Lethal Geek said, you had absolutely no guaranteed way to build the gear pieces you wanted. You were completely at the mercy of the RNG. Wanted to change your sub abilities? Rerolling the slots was your only option. (Though you could pay for rerolls.) It was dumb.

Salmon Run is definitely the best PVE shooter mode. I love that you actually get cool and worthwhile bonuses from it too.

Yeah, since cap'n Cuttlefish went with Agent 3 to "the cape" for a research trip as mentioned in one of the Scrolls, one suspects Agent 8 isn't related to the Agent 4 you control in the Octo Valley single player but a whole new chapter.

Rank X details got released, and hoo boy there's a lot to go over. First off, they revealed the percentage of active players (if they played within the last week, and have played at least 1 ranked game during that time) within each rank: quote:S+10 to S+50: 1.0% Rank X is a new rank that's going to replace S+10 through S+50. So it's literally for the top 1% of players. If you're already there by the time 3.0.0 hits, you'll automatically be promoted to rank X. At this point, there's no longer a bar. Instead, after 10 placement matches, you're given a matchmaking rating. (It's basically the power rating from Splatfests or League.) Matchmaking will try to pair the people with the closest powers together. In SplatNet 2, the top 500 players from each of the ranked modes will be published once a month. If players use a specific weapon frequently, the player with the highest power with that weapon will be represented. Your MMR resets to the "calculating" stage at the start of each month. The first reset will take place in June. For the record, you can get kicked out of Rank X. At the end of each month, if your MMR drops too far below what is deemed to be the average MMR at the time, you're getting sent back to S+9. Also if your MMR drops too low at any point, you're getting sent back to S+9 immediately. Some other changes not related to Rank X itself.  Ranked mode itself is also getting changed. Instead of having all the maps available, the maps rotations are going to be limited to a pool of 8 maps per mode per month. The reason for this is because with the large amount of maps that are in the game now, it'll be harder to actually play a certain map and game mode combination. This change lets all players be able to practice a certain set of maps and game modes at a time. Turf Wars and League will be completely unaffected by this change.Once Rank X hits, new weapons will no longer be released weekly. Darn, I need to play a lot more Splatzones and Clam Blitz to reach S+10. I'm Already way over in Rainmaker and Tower Control, but I'll normally pick Salmon Run over Zones or Football. X is interesting though. I'm not completely sure about the Ranked Mode changes since 8 maps is still quite big, but I'm hoping it means the new map for the month is always included.
