Well it was annoying that FSP started that Melbourne game at 7:30 instead of 7:00 because the AFL game ran long or something, in turn meaning I had to finish it at my desk at work, and also the penalties were a mess, but I enjoyed it anyway. I hope the schedule geniuses continue to pick some Melbourne Storm games for broadcast here in the US in the future. Discussion topic idea: Perth expansion I was listening to the Rugby League Republic podcast episode 76 and they were talking about Expansion (starting at 27:45). Apparently Steve "Blocker" Roach has floated the idea that rather than starting a new club, the Wests Tigers could relocate to Perth.

I don't think any of the "merger" clubs will head elsewhere - there would be rioting in the streets. Perth by all accounts is a lock - RU making GBS threads it up and a huge league community from FIFO workers and corporate dollars means it is a lock. The other will most likely be Brisbane II, whether the Broncos get the shits and start another competition this time remains to be seen.

My theory is the Perth Bears will come in (making two groups of people very happy) and then Ipswich. I mean, central coast would be the smart choice for the second team, but the NRL takes them completely for granted and will never put them in. Actually, they'll probably gently caress over Perth for exactly the same reason - the NRL can't ever do the sensible thing.
