In this world there is room for everyone. And the good earth is rich and can provide for everyone. The way of life can be free and beautiful, but we have lost the way.

Greed has poisoned our souls, has barricaded the world with hate, has goose-stepped us into misery and bloodshed. We have developed speed, but we have shut ourselves in. Machinery that gives abundance has left us in want. Our knowledge has made us cynical. Our cleverness, hard and unkind. We think too much and feel too little. More than machinery we need humanity. More than cleverness we need kindness and gentleness. Without these qualities, life will be violent and all will be lost….

Our great advances have brought us closer together. The very nature of our society cries out for the goodness in men - cries out for universal brotherhood - for the unity of us all. Even now my voice is reaching millions throughout the world - millions of despairing men, women, and little children - victims of an unnatural and alienating system forced upon us.

To those who can hear me, I say - do not despair. The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed - the bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress. The hate of men will pass, and dictators die, and the power they took from the people will return to the people.

Soldiers! don’t give yourselves to brutes - men who despise you - enslave you - who regiment your lives - tell you what to do - what to think and what to feel! Who drill you - diet you - treat you like cattle, use you as cannon fodder. Don’t give yourselves to these unnatural men - cold men with cold minds and cold hearts! You are not automatons! You are not cattle! You are men! You have the love of humanity in your hearts! You don’t hate! Only the unloved hate - the unloved and the unnatural! Soldiers! Don’t fight for slavery! Fight for liberty!

The power to create is within man - not one man nor a group of men, but in all men! In you! You, the people have the power - the power to create machines. The power to create happiness! You, the people, have the power to make this life free and beautiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure.

Then - in the name of democracy - let us use that power - let us all unite. Let us fight for a new world - a decent world that will give men a chance to work - that will give youth a future and old age a security. By the promise of these things, brutes and their lackeys have risen to power. But they lie! They do not fulfill that promise. They never will!

Capitalists free themselves but they enslave the people! Now let us fight to fulfill that promise! Let us fight to free the world - to do away with national barriers - to do away with greed, with hate and intolerance. Let us fight for a world of reason, a world where science and progress will lead to all men’s happiness. In the name of democracy, let us all unite!

Radek steps up to the podium, looks at the audience, and crumples his speech.

Comrades, I woke up this morning prepared to deliver the speech I had written, a speech full of fire and brimstone. A speech that condemned the political opportunists in it for themselves, a speech that excoriated the Capitalist wreckers, a speech that would give a proper tongue lashing to those who truly deserve it.

But that is not the message I want to leave you with, at the end of this most contentious campaign.

Instead I want to talk about what the SRLF is, what we've done, and what we're going to do.

Who are we? We're your neighbors and your coworkers. We're your fathers and mothers, your brothers and sisters, your sons and daughters. We're you, dear Sirta, and that ethos is at the core of our very being. Everything we do is for the People's sake, because that is who we are, who we come from, and who we will eternally hold most dear.

What have we done? No less than our very utmost to rebuild Sirta. We reformed your law enforcement, making the streets safer to walk than anytime in recent memory. We've begun great infrastructure projects to reknit the fractured communities of Sirta into one cohesive nation once more. We've begun a new era in comprehensive and accessible education, so that all may have not just the tools to make them productive and capable workers, but productive and capable citizens as well. We've built new houses and hospitals, and have at every turn continued to strive for what is good and right for the People. Has it always worked as quickly as we've hoped? Certainly not, especially with our so-called coalition partners, but we've learned from what hasn't worked to redouble our efforts ever more - just look who was actually doing work in Parliament! No matter the setbacks, we have always vowed to continue doing our utmost on your behalf.

And if you send us back to Government, that is exactly what we are going to continue to do. New, fair deals with our neighbors to bring in needed investment. Jobs programs and capital investment to get the still far-too-many unemployed back on their feet. Continued efforts with SIRTAK to make sure that every community of Sirta has access to the outside world. A revitalized biotech industry to inspire our youth and provide good jobs. Continued successes in the war on crime, and an end to the petty corruption that yet plagues our society.

But we cannot do any of it without your continued trust and support. On this election day, vote the SRLF ticket. Vote for the Sirta you want, the Sirta you deserve, a Sirta by, for, and of the people, not the wealthy interests that dominated it up until this last year. Forward together, comrades!

Now I think we're all just about sick of party platforms, and are well enough informed on those, so I'll can the promises for today -- they're much better fufilled on the morrow, anyhow. To you all, I simply ask that you make your voices heard. If you believe that we in the SRLF are your voice than I am proud to be it. For those who may disagree with us on any number of wide-ranging issues, I urge you as well to vote. Truth and Justice Act posted:

Definitions for this act:

* “punishment” refers to any punitive measures the regular court system is legally authorized to dispense.

* “investigative powers” refers to any means at the disposal of the municipal police forces, the regular court system and the Intelligence Service for the purpose of investigating crimes.

* “properly judged” refers to decisions arrived at without coercion or compensation by external actors.

* “regime official” refers to any member of the Public Security Force, the Sirta Defense Force, the Intelligence Service, all government departments, the municipal police forces, the regular court system and all companies under a long-term contract with the government, between the years 3032 and 3060.

Commission Formation: A body by the name “The Truth and Justice Commission”, henceforth referred to as TJC within this act, shall be formed under the Ministry of Justice for the purpose of investigating and judging crimes committed by regime officials. Parliament and the Ministry of Justice are obligated to fully fund the TJC’s operation. The TJC will replace the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, henceforth referred to as the TRC. This act replaces the Truth and Reconciliation Act in its entirety.

Commission Membership: The TJC shall consist of 9 Commissioners of whom 4 are appointed by the Prime Minister and 5 appointed by the Minister of Justice. The TJC is authorized to employ as many people as it finds necessary.

Commission Jurisdiction: The TJC shall have exclusive jurisdiction in investigating and judging nonviolent crimes committed by regime officials. All courts and other government bodies shall be obligated to refer all relevant cases to the TJC. Any violent crimes uncovered by the TJC during the course of their investigation are to be referred to the courts and other government bodies. Any cases that were being handled by the TRC are now to be handled by the TJC.

Commission Powers: The TJC shall have access to all investigative powers relevant to pursuing its’ cases. It shall be able to dispense any properly judged punishment.

Commission Responsibilities: The TJC shall make all proceedings publicly available via live SCN broadcast, video recordings, and transcripts. It must also issue a quarterly report to Parliament detailing the progress of the Commission, on a qualitative and quantitative level, and making any recommendations it has come to feel, through its contact with the public, Parliament could do to further improve the lot of those who were victimized by the Old Regime.

Commission Term: The TJC shall keep operating for at least five years, after which Parliament may renew the Commission for another 5 year term. The TJC may dissolve itself at any time upon a unanimous decision if it feels it's duties are completed.
