Due to Trackmania being talked about due to Plus, I remembered I owned it and went to play it again...  /i reckon it's the hardest game I've ever played and I only unlocked just over half the tracks!!I predict a lot of broken controllers in the next month!

Anyway, real answer: it depends what you're after and how..acclimatised you are to old games. FF7 is real cool but it has not aged gracefully. FF9 has a lot of whimsy but it's also pretty slow. FF10/10-2 is a solid pick though Tidus might annoy you. FF12 is polarizing but if you love a good grind and poking at systems to make minor improvements you might well enjoy it. FF14 is a MMO so probably not what you're after, but it is a good one. FF15 is a great bro-trip that has some odd developmental choices as the game goes on, but it's a fun sum-of-its parts kinda thing. I guess there's Type-0 as well but I played like 10 minutes of the PSP version so I dunno. The girl with the flute owns.

I really had a good time with FF 15, and I’m looking forwards to finishing it off when I’m done with FC5 and Yakuza 6. It’s really fun, though it would be nice if it explained any of the nuances to the combat system at all.

Sounds nice. It is! I didn’t care for FC3 or 4 much at all but I’m hooked on this game for the balance of batshit insane combat + super chill hunting and fishing with pets. I unlocked the ability to have two followers out at a time and I’m in heaven.

The real problem is that none of that stuff is necessary. I competed the game by doing nothing but button mashing and flailing randomly about. The combat system is the worst parts of overly obtuse and so insanely easy that you're not required to engage with the systems at all

I've picked it up and put it down over the years, but I'm finally burning my way through Odin Sphere Leifthrasir. Time has come for The Book of Armageddon  Out of curiosity, what will happen if I pick the wrong characters? Pretty sure I know who'll need to go where, just curious.

Only about an hour and a half from being able to play Nier and I am quite excited. It has been a while since I was anticipating a game! Of course, I have a sneaking suspicion I will get home and find out it has not downloaded or is still in the middle.
