wasn't there an episode of Saturday Night that was pre-empted by baseball, and supposedly had a good Ric Flair-Alex Wright match?

I remember for years tape traders were trying to find that from European broadcasts because the US version never aired

Hello! I see you.

Why did they bother editing out Jericho's middle finger to Michaels during the latter's Mania 19 entrance? They even kept in the commentary describing a "classless act by Jericho", but the camera just focuses on Michaels. I actually had to go back and check if I had somehow missed it, because for some reason Jericho flipping off Michaels during the entrance is one of those things about this show I remember clearly even after 15 years, and for a second there I thought I had imagined it.

I'd kinda understand this if they had also edited Stone Cold's double bird salutes, but those are still there.

Hello! I see you.

Going into Unforgiven 2001, I thought the horrible screaming CGI triple-Austin face on the poster and the intro would be the most terrifying thing about this show. I'm not so sure anymore, judging from the way my ears are bleeding after that... unique opening performance of America the Beautiful (this was the first PPV after 9/11, so they obviously went full 'MURICA here and I'm not blaming them, but they maybe could've found someone less... intense to perform the song).

...Hold on, is this also the show with Taker & Kane vs. KroniK? :gonk: Or was that at No Mercy? I forget.

edit: This was indeed the show with the infamous Brothers of Destruction/KroniK match and, honestly, I expected something much shittier based on its reputation. Yeah, it was definitely a bad match, but I've seen far worse over the years.

e2: Man, say what you will about the InVasion storyline, but most of the in-ring stuff is really loving solid and Vince would kill for these crowd reactions nowadays. Also, the opening video package for Survivor Series '01 is great and actually makes the Alliance look like a threat, unlike everything else involving this angle.

Anyone check out the Wrestlemania Theater collection yet on the Network?

It's various Wrestlemania matches put together with completely different camera angles and crowd/arena shots that goes for a real cinematic feel. There's some long shots and angles that make it feel real unique. Commentary is also cut at various points to really focus on the crowd reactions. Hope they do more stuff like this!

It's basically the anti-Dunn.

Goldberg/Lesnar in particular is really amazing in this format.

I love the long shots from across the arena, which don't wobble, move, or cut every second or two. Muting large chunks of Cole is a brilliant move too.

technically WCW Saturday Night started/was rebranded in 1992 and they uploaded the first year.

the NWA World Championship Wrestling Saturday show is on the network, but only 85 to 89 (which are the JCP years)

still no sign of the Turner years and GCW years

My understanding is that they've done very little editing after the fact for legacy content on the Network. But if the most accessible footage they have is from a retail DVD release, that's what gets put up more often than not. Hence we get a lot of PPVs with blurred fingers and changed music, while individual Raw episodes (which were never packaged and sold by themselves) are mostly presented as-is.

Putting rookie road dog vs rookie hhh seems much better then just adding like 30 episodes of the wcw c show.

It was a decent match too for being 4 minutes. And we get to see road dogs tattoo that he always covered up.

I’m gonna assume a lot of these gems are going to have one off matches of young future stars on syndicated shows. Which is fine by me if they pepper it with some never before seen house match that no one had any idea was ever taped.

And god willing those old ecw tapes paul e and joey styles were always yelling about.

I turned on the Network a bit early for 205 Live tonight and they showed a "My Son is a Wrestler" segment with Miz and his parents. It was mostly Miz dad making fun of Miz and as such it is highly recommended viewing.
