Baby you can shout at me,
But you can't need my eyes.
Surely they could have played this in Brisbane or Cairns or Darwin or Alice or literally any place other than the opposing teams home stadium which is also the entire length of the continent away?

Let's get a little crazy. Let's have some fun.
There's a precedent in that North and the Bears both played "home" games in WA in the late 80s.

Plus the Suns get the gate I imagine.

Oh yeah, baby. Frame your suffering as a masterpiece. Only one problem - no one's watching. It's boring, buddy, boring as death.

Yeah they're getting a big pay packet out of it.

idk, I feel like the AFL probably could have done a bit more to lessen the on-field impact to the suns, given they managed to work around kardinia park being offline for half the season without sending Geelong's home games to exmouth

They play the Eagles there next week as well. Also, I find it amusing when people complain about the trip over here and how hard the travel time is when WA teams have to do it every second week.

"Most mornings I'll apologise in advance to my wife."
Remember when teams used to sell home games to the Lions at the Gabba during the Voss years? It was usually a guaranteed loss but the gate receipts were so good they couldn't turn it down.

Seems bizarre as gently caress in the current context doesn't it?

The umpiring in the North v Melbourne game is atrocious.

The Lions have a two goal lead on Port heading into halftime with Tom 'secret deadweight' Rockliff with just the 7 touches

Between that, North being ok and GC on top of the ladder, it's looking like no one knows anything about football

I'm not saying anything new, or shocking here, but Eddie McGuire is a bad commentator, and a bad person, and I dislike seeing him and hearing him on my screen.

This is one of the most poorly umpired games I've ever seen.

Dees should be about 40 up if it wasn't for gifts to the Kangas and shocking frees against Melbourne like that one against Kent at the end of the 3rd. 'Holding' when Kent wasn't even touching the player at all. Just unfathomably bad.

My local club opened the books with a 1 point win, the girls slaughtered their opposition too

Also we lost a bunch of players at lower grades for the season tho, including what looked to be spinal damage to a new guy (turned out not to be he can move his feet now). Funny sort of day.

They've been planning it for 6 months now, and going from last week every idea they proposed in that time is being used. Like loving Purple Rain, which was being joked about last year

Hopefully they calm down about all the new 'fan interaction' stuff by the Derby
