Taste the High Country

Missing a hyphen. It actually says Be-Aware of Dog.

And that is a dog you should be aware of.

EDIT

And here is a dog who just got a new wheelchair. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFB2h9QORZ0

Being social makes me swell!
Had an interesting time at work. One of the businesses down the road has an IT guy with a Golden retriever that gave birth to a litter about three months back, so I suggested that he liaise with HR to bring them to my building for adoption purposes.

Which lead to an interesting phonecall:

"... so we'll need the FCT-900s for the B&I underlining completely drawn down for the it- It's a bit loud down there. Could you move to a boardroom, Naba?"

"Wish I could, but I'm afraid that's not possible at the moment."

"I understand this is a busy time, but I've just been informed to escalate the internal au-"

"-I mean physically. I'm literally covered in puppies. They're trying to lick my face off and bite the phone."

Mine had one once, where a local rescue brought in a litter of puppies that were adoptable. One literally fell asleep in my lap and the adoption people were all "~~she choose you~~ you have to take her now"

It almost worked.

Dog care question: Has anyone here ever used one of these instead of a cone of shame?

I saw them for sale and they seem to make sense, but then I wondered why I didn’t see any dog ever wear one, and wondered if there was a catch of some kind.

It depends on how flexible your dog is (which varies by breed) and where the wound in question is. For a bulldog, pug, etc, these work really well, I'm given to understand. For Reggie (an ACD), it worked not at all when he had stitches on his muzzle. He was able to scratch at them with both fore-legs and hind, and had to go back to the cone. I think if it was to protect abdominal stitches (say, post neutering/spaying) then it would probably work pretty well even for a fairly flexible dog.

I looked into getting one after Chicha's spay, but the guy at Petco told us not to bother. Apparently it's their most returned item and you're better off just with the cone from the vet. (Don't remember which models there were.)
