Robodog posted:Daniher is a sack of spuds that should never take shots at goal so passing it off was the right move imo Green shouldn't have called for it, it's like exploiting someone because Daniher is one of the worst confidence players I've seen and he just immediately believed someone else was the better option. The more you watch it the worse it gets.

3 week ban for the irish vampire sucks about ryan, he's great fun to watch. when he kicked his second goal he stopped, turned around and threw up the double flex to his teammates while the ball was still in mid-air

I think Taranto's was worse because it was a mark, whereas that one looks like a ruck (or is it not?)

This year's Hawks Indigenous Round guernsey is really cool. Based around Tiwi culture and the Pukumani Poles have been used as the brown stripes. Don't have a picture as it's just in the paper at work today but it's great.

Definitely take public transport, it's really good for Adelaide Oval. I haven't taken the train in but the buses are excellent and there's heaps of them. Beyond that, there's not much to say. It's a fairly quick stadium to get inside of, and there are some pretty good places to eat inside. Have a great time

Have any WA folk been to Optus Stadium yet? What's it like? I'm hearing nightmares about the food, $12 for a chicken burger where they forget the chicken. $8 middies. Tickets also seem to be even more expensive than Subi ($30 v $50 for nosebleeds)

MysticalMachineGun posted:Hey, all of a sudden I'm going to my first Crows game at Adelaide Oval tomorrow night! Any advice to make it as painless as possible? I'd be training in I reckon. Train is the best choice. Aim to get into Adelaide Central about 30-40 minutes before the game. Follow the crowd from the train, access from the northern end of the station is now open on game day. Don't take a bag of any kind, the bag search lines are huge. Don't bother taking any cash, everything inside is card only. The bridge after the game is pretty packed, what I do is go to the bar outside the southern gates that looks over the bridge and plaza, and wait out the rush while having a drink, but if it's raining that bar is usually closed. Alternatively you can go to the post game function in the Magarey room, 3rd level of the Riverbank stand. Otherwise yeah the food is fine, as of this season West End Draught has been replaced by James Squire, and if you want to save money all of the bars have a free puratap and plastic cups at one end of the bar for anyone to use. optus stadium - i went to general admission last saturday to freo v gold coast for 30 bucks ground level near the goals (bay 128 i think?). only middies allowed for general admission but its very easy to get to the bar/food/toilet areas. i got in via a bus that goes direct and was running like every 5-10 minutes which was kind of absurdly convenient. the ground level seats still sit a fence level above the actual ground compared to subiaco so you still got a good view. getting in and out is fairly easy, but if you hop on the train shuttle to the city afterwards they make you do this giant zig zag on the way to the station so the crowd doesn't all hit it at once. i then got tickets to watch the eagles game with my dads membership the next day so i went to that, members is much better but we were up in the third tier near the edge which is pretty high and pretty steep. the view isnt too bad though, but the further back the worse it probably is. the fat speds who got to their seats before us refused to stand up as we went past (we were still there 5 minutes to bouncedown so its not like we were late) but trying to shuffle past their fat asses it felt like i was going to stack it down over the next couple of rows of people cos the seats are laid out so steep. freo game had 34k which had an ok vibe but nobody gets too excited about playing gold coast, but the west coast game pulled 54k and it was loud af when liam ryan kicked his last goal, real colosseum feel. public transport on the way out of the eagles game wasnt noticeably better or worse, but before the game there were a lot more people around. didnt eat and wasnt paying attention to drink costs. the camden pub outside the stadium we got into super easy to get into pre-game for the freo game but had a line out the door pre-game for the eagles despite not looking that busy on the inside, especially compared to the numbers of people the vic in subi used to let in pre- and post-game. dunno what was going on there with their liquor license or whatever.

Shame I don't live in Perth/Maylands anymore cus I could've literally walked or rode my bike to the stadium. JK is back in for the Eagles, will be interesting to see how the game plan unfolds when there's two key forwards.

Last year under contract and if your brain is still in rough shape 2 months onwards then it's not going to be better next year. Dude is a Bulldogs legend and had one of the greatest individual finals series that you'll ever see in 2016 and has left nothing on the table in regard to getting the most out of himself.
