I think the idea behind weird makeup and hairstyles is that they're reversible. You can undo them after you get done breaking into whatever you're doing. You're not trying to fool people, just cameras.

I feel like this would be most useful in China where cctv cameras are using facial recognition to ticket people for jaywalking. But then you're also tickling the dragon's tail and risking a Chinese gulag for loving with the system.
