While Tyra is 100% right about how people's white-- or white passing-- faves will get away with way more than the black queens do, it's ... not super relevant to most of her recent drama. I love Tyra to pieces but she has been on the offensive against other queens since season 2. I love her but she's a complete bitch. The DragCon banning came after she had some choice words about Trixie winning over Shangela (which the sentiment I agree with but w/e) and it started a fight with Phi Phi, then Tati got involved, and Jiggly in some capacity, then she threw out some death threats and a joke about blowing up DragCon so WOW pulled her from the event until she publicly apologizes, which she refuses to do. Most of the Tyra drama is her just being extra in the worst ways, but she'll try to pass it off as just a race thing-- and don't get me wrong, a lot of the hate for Tyra IS a race thing and I have zero doubt that issue combined with nobody ever accepting her win for all of these years is definitely a big part of why she's always super easy to start a fight-- when a lot of it is just Tyra being Tyra. She was a bitch on season 2 and she's a bitch now. Usually it's fun messy when she starts online drama with other Ru Girls but the past few times has been pretty loving sloppy, to the point where I wish she'd just put the phone down b/c any comedy gold that may come from her fights isn't worth her completely loving ruining what little good will/reputation she has left these days.

I'm thinking this edit bodes well for the two of them though. I also just really kind of hate when young white twink queens get lauded for boybody when they shame others for it all the time. She has a big family and deep roots and that goes a long way to making a legend in drag. 80% of the folks people put up as all time legendary queens aren't that dazzling in the sorts of things that play well on drag race. Drag is still super local, even if you have some big headed social queens like Aquaria starting to break through too.

Eeeeeeh, to be fair, that's a Really Obvious passive-aggressive power move, not an honest effort to manage and stem harassment. (And that's how a lot of the other queens saw it.) Okay, it could be an honest effort, but it's a really bad one. It's possible that Valentina's social skills are just that bad and her ego is just that big, but the overall effect is the same.

I'm posting this here since the Dragula season 2 thread is dead. I finished season 2 finally and I would kill for a 3 way with Israel and Shaun. I normally don't like my men so lean, but they're both delicious. And  at how the queens treated Israel the last few eps. They were always excited to see him and were so goddamn chipper, while he was all brooding and silent.

Being from the UK, I definitely know local queens who can turn out a motherfucking lip sync and I’m hoping people don’t actually think that all drag queens are like Charlie here. I’d like to think she’s not the best representation considering his less than stellar history with blackface.
