I know they wont, but I hope AA reinvents themself sorta on the next album. Jomsviking to me just sounds like Thunder God part 4, they are riding the coattails of that album hard. Oh well, it'll be more of the same and will probably be good so  Re: New Deafheaven, I actually really liked it. Friends and discord peeps have been making GBS threads on the video but I dig it since I'm near-ish the bay area so I liked the sights and feel of the video. Musically the vocals were strong, everything else was fine and the last 5 minutes turning into indie rock was pleasant. Yes, a short stupid intro is obligatory but usually the ones with some self awareness cut themselves off in under a minute and get to the good stuff. Once you hit that two minute mark it's

I can't remember the band but one time when I was just cruising spotify related artists for new music I thought "holy poo poo this intro is taking a long loving time, it's already 5 minutes in and the song hasn't even started," and turns out I was listening to an ambient album.

It is definitely easy to overdo intros, the line between tasteful and fun and "gently caress this im listening to something else" is hard to dinstinguish for some bands lol

Weird intros helped get me into noise/industrial way back when. I kept hearing great intros that got ruined by the instruments and human voices coming in, so I sought out the stuff that was 100% freak. Thanks for listening.
