It bothered me when Quinton Reviews brought up Lindsay Ellis and the Distressed Watcher in the same sentence, even though Lindsay Ellis is a highly charming and funny internet-reviewer and hasn't been banned from any fast-food establishments.

The Left do need more of a sense of humor but considering how on the pulse of current events a lot of them tend to be, it's hard to laugh at a joke caricature or just a plain joke at their expense in a silly internet video because that's all the mainstream media does - except not in a jokey fashion at all. I don't think the Tabby character is utterly horrible, I did laugh a couple times when she showed up, but I do think it's a bit of a dumb strawman. I've seen really smart leftists call for revolution in the heat of the moment and they can tell you exactly what that means while others, not so much.

Oh, I think they're completely serious. But Contra also doesn't present the character as wrong - she's not a strawman, she's a parody, but she gets to own Reasonable Contra at least some of the time and some of her claims go unanswered.

Really, they're all just so lazy and entitled.  Thankfully we don't have any major issues threatening to destabilize the world or anything, so they'll have plenty of time to sit back and calmly grow older and settle down into a respectable centrist lifestyle.

I'm arguing that (at least certain segments of) rose twitter can be really funny, because Twitter and the internet in general produces really stupid takes and there's inherent comedy value to the way people present themselves and their politics on the internet.

That's part of the issue, but something to note is that it's a thing pushed for hardest by business owners in affluent neighborhoods because if there's a homeless person sleeping in front of your expensive boutique or whatever, your rich patrons might think twice about shopping there lest they be accosted by those filthy poors, so there's a lot of push to install anti-homeless fixtures.
